Kami pa mismo ang magsasabi nito, kahit PCAB-licensed kami na design and construction firm dito sa Pilipinas. Oo,

Kasi totoo naman talaga, mas mura nga kapag foreman lang ang bahala sa project mo, from labor hanggang sa pagbili ng materials. Wala kang babayaran na professional fees, wala ring permit processing, tapos mabilis pa dahil informal lang naman ang setup, di ba?

Isipin mo, dumating yung tag-ulan tapos biglang tumulo yung bagong tayong bubong mo, o nalaman mo na hindi pala sapat yung reinforcement ng poste.

Sino kakausapin mo non?

Kasi yung foreman, wala syang license na pwedeng habulin sa korte o sa PRC. Wala rin syang permit na naka-pangalan sa kanya na nagsasabing sumunod siya sa National Building Code. Tapos base sa experience namin sa AAI, kadalasan, doble pa nga yung gastos sa pag-aayos kumpara sa "savings" mo noong umpisa.

Hindi naman ito laban sa mga foreman ha.

Marami sa kanila talagang magaling, lalo na pagdating sa actual na trabaho.

Ang point lang namin, iba yung skill sa kamay at iba yung accountability na dala ng isang license. Kasi yung licensed architect o engineer, may responsibilidad sila sa code compliance, sa structural integrity, at sa legal side ng project bago pa man matapos lahat, hindi lang pagkatapos magka-problema.

Kaya bago ka magdesisyon, tanungin muna sarili mo: ready ka ba sa possible gastos at headache kapag nagkaproblema sa hinaharap? Sulit pa rin ba yung "mura" ngayon kung yung nakataya pala ay pinakamalaking investment mo, yung bahay ng family mo?

Gusto namin malaman, meron na ba kayong experience, maganda man o hindi, sa pag-hire ng foreman lang? I-share niyo sa comments, gusto namin marinig totoong kwento niyo.

This is what interior works look like when the details are taken seriously.

Alanes + Associates Inc. handles full interior works, fit-out, built-ins, ceiling works, tile finishing, and construction management for residential and commercial projects across Laguna, Cavite, and Metro South.

Abamo Project is almost there.

Carpentry, tile setting, painting. Finishing works are in full swing, and every site visit, it looks more and more like a home na talaga.

Honestly, this is the best part of any build. Bawat detalye, nakikita na talaga. Makikita mo ung actual schematics, layout, render mo nagiging totoo na rin talaga.

This morning, Mindanao was hit by a magnitude 7.8 earthquake. One of the strongest the Philippines has experienced in over 30 years.

A building housing a fast food chain in General Santos City collapsed following the tremor.

PHIVOLCS has advised residents of at least nine provinces in Mindanao to evacuate immediately from coastal areas. Aftershocks are ongoing. Rescue operations are underway.

Four lives confirmed lost. Seventeen still missing. Twenty-six rescued from the rubble.

At approximately 3:00 AM on May 24, 2026, a nine-story building under construction in Barangay Balibago, Angeles City collapsed while workers slept inside.

The investigation is ongoing. But initial findings are already telling.

Reports indicate that an additional floor and a rooftop pool were reportedly being built without approved permits or plan revisions. Angeles City Mayor Lazatin confirmed: "Wala pong approval sa local government nito."

A rooftop pool adds roughly one tonne per cubic meter of dead load. A structure not re-engineered for it cannot reliably carry that weight. ASEP President Ruben Feliciano had warned in March 2026: "Unauthorised changes like rooftop pools or additional floors, if not recalculated by licensed engineers, can critically overload midrise buildings."

The collapse came 83 days later.

This is the cost of cutting corners. In an industry where projects are awarded on price alone, engineering rigor and permit compliance are often the first to go.

The workers on that site did not make those decisions.
They showed up to do their jobs.
They deserved to come home.

We call on DPWH, DILG, and all local government units: enforce with zero compromise. Licensed oversight on every site. Stop-work orders for unpermitted modifications. Full accountability from owner to contractor to every signatory on the plans.

A building under construction collapsed in Angeles City before dawn today. At least 30 people were trapped.

Our thoughts are with those affected, their families, and the rescue teams still on the ground.

The investigation is ongoing. But regardless of what caused it, incidents like this remind the entire construction industry of one truth that cannot be overstated: accountability at every stage of a project is what protects lives.

Under RA 11058 and DOLE DO 198-18, contractors, safety officers, site engineers, and project owners share joint liability for OSH compliance on every site, regardless of project size.

This is not just a legal requirement. It is a professional responsibility.
