Nakibahagi ang 69th Infantry Battalion (69IB) sa isang Joint Coastal Clean-Up Drive at Mangrove Planting Activity sa Sitio Burador, Brgy. Sabang, Sta. Cruz, Zambales noong Mayo 2, 2026, bilang bahagi ng paggunita sa World Ocean Month.

Isinagawa ang aktibidad sa pakikipagtulungan sa Sta. Cruz Zambales Diversified Metals Corporation (ZDMC), kasama ang mga tauhan ng Santa Cruz MPS, Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), mga opisyal ng barangay, at ibaโ€™t ibang Peopleโ€™s Organizations.

Today, 2 May 2026, in line with the observance of World Ocean Day, ZDMC and ZCMCI led a Mangrove Planting and Coastal Cleanup Activity in Brgy. Sabang, Sta. Cruz, Zambales. The activity focused on coastal ecosystem rehabilitation through the strategic planting of mangrove propagules to support shoreline stabilization, reduce erosion, and enhance habitat productivity, coupled with a coordinated coastal cleanup to address solid waste accumulation and minimize land-to-sea pollution.

The initiative was carried out in partnership with key stakeholders: Hon. Marissa Briva and Barangay LGU of Sabang, Burador Fisherfolks and Farmers Association, Philippine National Police Santa Cruz, Bureau of Fire Protection Sta. Cruz, 69th IB 7th ID of the Philippine Army, and the Rotary Club of Sta. Cruz. The participation of these sectors highlights a unified and community-driven approach toward integrated coastal zone management.

Through this collaborative effort, we reaffirm our commitment to strengthening environmental stewardship, promoting climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies, and ensuring the long-term sustainability of our coastal and marine ecosystems.
