The donation was undertaken by SMBI as part of their effort to help the Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief operations of AFP.

The AFP Chief of Staff General Rey Leonardo Guerrero led the AFP in receiving the HADR assets from SMBI President Robert Huang in a simple ceremony at the General Headquarters Canopy Area here.

Col Rodil, previously the Executive Officer of the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Reservist and Retiree Affairs, OJ9, took over the AFPRESCOM top post from Brigadier General Noel Buan who retired from the military service.

The new AFPRESCOM Acting Commander also served as Assistant Chief of Staff for Operations with the Civil Relations Service, AFP, and Commandant and Department Head of the University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman Reserve Officers' Training Corps. Col Rodil graduated from UP Diliman with a bachelor’s degree in Architecture in 1984. In 1988, he received his commission as Second Lieutenant in the AFP Reserve Force and was subsequently called-to-active duty in the Philippine Army in 1989.
