These crosses are all that remains of the people who were never found after Yolanda. Family, friends and entire communities claimed by the storm. There are no graves, they weren't even counted in the official death toll. In our little way, may they be remembered.

Sari sari store locations built by HMBanez. Truly a memorable experience meeting various beneficiaries, seeing far places and delivering USAID's commitment to aiding the small retailers affected by ST Yolanda.

Did you know: 46.5% of MSMEs are in the retail business (national average, PSA data) which is the lifeblood of goods transport in the country. When disasters strike and flow of goods and access to basic necessities are interrupted, it is these small retailers that are the most vulnerable but at the same time fastest to recover if they can be aided quickly.

Did you know: Mean investment and value of goods of small sari sari stores is at Php 2,000.00 (field experience). With typical stores in the Php 5-10,000.00 range. They don't have much in terms of excess cash to put in their stores structures so whatever they have is mostly the best they can do.
