Shell raises concern over gov’t fuel price caps

Shell Pilipinas Corp. on Tuesday criticized government-imposed fuel price caps, warning that the intervention violates the Oil Deregulation Law and could discourage long-term investors.

Leo Bellas of Jetti Petroleum admits that oil players are selling diesel at a loss because they are selling expensive supplies at a cheaper cost.

Over the past month, diesel prices have seen steep rollbacks. For this week, the Department of Energy has set the minimum rollback for diesel at P9 per liter.
