𝗕𝗦𝗔𝗕𝗘 𝟯𝗿𝗱 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝘀 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗼 𝘀𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗿𝘀, 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗢𝗝𝗧 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀

In preparation for their future careers and work immersion experience, the third year students of the Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering program gathered for a two-session seminar held on May 14, 2026, at the SOE Building Room 4.

The morning session featured the 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐒𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐫 conducted by Mrs. Alma M. Guibangguibang. The discussion focused on professionalism, personal development, workplace ethics, and proper etiquette, providing students with valuable learning and practical tips in preparing for their future careers and professional responsibilities.

In the afternoon, the students participated in the 𝐒𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐫 𝐨𝐧 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐈𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐉𝐨𝐛 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 facilitated by Ms. Keszia Lorene S. Hechanova. The session provided practical insights on work immersion, interview etiquette, communication skills, and proper preparation for job applications and interviews, while also allowing students to engage in a mock job interview activity.

Moreover, certificates and tokens of appreciation were awarded to the resource speakers, as well as to the students who actively participated in the seminar activities.

The seminar ended with participants equipped with insights from both sessions, reinforcing their readiness as they move forward to their work immersion experience and future professional endeavors.

𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗴𝘂𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘂𝗽𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗢𝗝𝗧 𝗱𝗲𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁

A meaningful step toward industry immersion was marked as the parents and guardians of third year Bachelor of Science in Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering (BSABE) students gathered for the On-The-Job Training (OJT) Orientation held on May 11, 2026, at the SOE Building, Room 2.

Discussions focused on the objectives of the program, internship expectations, responsibilities, safety protocols, and the importance of guidance as the students prepare for their practical training experience.

The orientation was led by the Industry Immersion Program Coordinator, Engr. Catherine S. Samson, who discussed the objectives and significance of the OJT program in developing students’ professional skills, discipline, and industry exposure.

She also emphasized the vital role of parents and guardians in the students’ training journey and future careers.

The activity concluded with an open forum where parents and guardians were able to ask questions, express concerns, and gain a clearer understanding of the upcoming immersion.

Held at the campus mini gym on May 11, 2026, the 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗛𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘆 for 3rd and 4th year students, together with the 𝗧𝗿𝗶𝗯𝘂𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗿𝘀 for our graduating students, became a meaningful celebration of commitment, growth, and achievement.

Carrying the theme “HABE 2026: Habi ng Galing, Dangal, at Tagumpay,” the event celebrated the hard work and dedication of every future Agricultural and Biosystems Engineer as they continue weaving their dreams into reality.

The hard hats symbolized responsibility, readiness, and commitment to the profession, while the tribute honored the graduating students for their sacrifices, resilience, and inspiring journey throughout college life.

More than just a ceremony, the event served as meaningful reminder that every challenge faced inside and outside the classroom has shaped the students into stronger, more capable individuals ready to make an impact for the community.

Warmest congratulations to 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗵 𝗝𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗔. 𝗟𝗶𝗿𝗮𝘇𝗮𝗻 and 𝗝𝗲𝗿𝗿𝘆 𝗥. 𝗧𝘂𝗯𝗶𝗼 for earning first place in the pitch presentation during the International Student Research Congress ’26, held on May 6-7, at Jose Rizal Memorial State University – Main Campus, Dapitan City.

Through their study, “Optimization of Oyster Mushroom (𝘗𝘭𝘦𝘶𝘳𝘰𝘵𝘶𝘴 𝘰𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘶𝘴) Cultivation Under Semi-Automated Controlled Environment Farmhouse,” they demonstrated the potential of research and innovation in addressing agricultural challenges through technology-driven solutions.

“Out of 285 research entries from the Philippines and international participants, only four brave researchers had the courage to join the pitch presentation category—ug proud kaayo ko nga isa mi ato,” Leah Jean Lirazan shared.

“This journey taught me the importance of courage, perseverance, faith, ug pag salig sa process bisan murag impossible na kaayo ang tanan,” she added.

The research was conducted with the guidance and support of the co-authors, Prof. Yhebron J. Lagud, Engr. Karlfred Junnee A. Doydora, Engr. Ivan Clyde L. Sulay, and Engr. Catherine S. Samson.

This achievement is a proud moment for the BSABE program and serves as an inspiration to fellow students to continue striving for excellence in research and innovation.

🌧️📡 𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹-𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻

35 2nd year students enrolled in ABE 220 – Hydrometeorology, together with their Faculty-in-Charge, Engr. Rhose Joers-Paler, recently conducted an educational field trip to the Department of Agriculture-Ipil Zamboanga Sibugay Research and Extension Services (DA-IZSRES) and Achasol Small Water Impounding System (SWIS) in Zamboanga Sibugay.

The activity provided students with valuable hands-on exposure to actual agrometeorological instruments and monitoring systems used in agriculture and weather observation. Through firsthand experience, students were able to observe the functions and applications of instruments such as rain gauges, anemometers, hygrometers, and various environmental sensors used in collecting weather and climate data.

As part of the Hydrometeorology course, the field trip highlighted the importance of weather monitoring in agricultural and biosystems engineering and farm management. Students gained a deeper understanding of how meteorological data supports decision-making in irrigation scheduling, crop protection, water resource management, and climate-resilient farming practices.

During the 37th Philippine Agricultural Engineering Week, 75th PSABE Annual Convention, and 22nd International Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering Conference and Exhibition held in Koronadal City, South Cotabato (April 19–24, 2026), Engr. Reca Bautista and Engr. Catherine Samson successfully represented the institution through the presentation of two research papers in the Technical Paper Presentation.

They were joined by Crissa Jane Almojallas, National Treasurer of PSABE-PPG, and Cherry Jean Gooc, who served as official representatives of JRMSU PSABE-PPG.
