DORELCO Donates Electrical Materials, Fans to Leyte Regional Prison
SEPTEMBER 22, 2026 — The Don Orestes Romualdez Electric Cooperative, Inc. (DORELCO) turned over donated electrical materials and electric fans to the Education and Training Section of the Leyte Regional Prison – Maximum Security Compound in Abuyog, Leyte, in an initiative aimed at supporting the facility’s educational and training activities.
The ceremonial turnover was attended by the DORELCO Board of Directors, headed by Board President Engr. Pastor Tinaya, along with PS/AGM Brenda F. Ampolitod and DORELCO employees.
The donated materials are intended to help improve the facility’s electrical facilities and provide a more comfortable environment for persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) participating in educational and training activities.
In her message, PS/AGM Ampolito emphasized that DORELCO’s responsibility goes beyond providing electricity to its member-consumers- owners.
“Our role goes beyond delivering electricity. We also want to bring comfort, care and hope to the communities we serve”, she said.
Ampolitod also expressed hope that the donated materials would help provide better facilities for learning and training and serve as a reminder that light and hope can reach every corner, especially where they are needed most.
Receiving the donations on behalf of the Leyte Regional Prison was Senior Superintendent Ruben R. Formoso, who expressed his appreciation to DORELCO for extending its support to the facility.
