The Philippines is on the rise! The country has jumped from 72nd to 16th in The Fraser Institute ’s 2024 Mining Investment Attractiveness Index, thanks to bold reforms and improved ease of doing business. The Chamber of Mines of the Philippines calls this a “massive leap” and credits strong inter-agency collaboration and a new Mining Fiscal Regime Bill that aligns with global best practices. 𝗥𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗵 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗲𝘅 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝘀

On July 18, 2025, the Philippine Society of Mining Engineers – Philex Chapter officially relaunched its local chapter and conducted the induction of officers for the year 2025.

The event was graced by Engr. Felizardo Gacad, who served as the Guest Speaker and Induction Officer. Also present as witnesses to the occasion were respected mining professionals Engr. Armando Malicse and Engr. Arthur Eulogio.

This milestone event signifies a renewed commitment to excellence, integrity, and unity in the mining engineering profession. With the guidance of experienced leaders and the dedication of the newly inducted officers, the Philex Chapter is poised to advance its mission and support the continued development of the mining industry.
