Earlier today, the CSU-TBI and SINAG Cagayan Valley warmly welcomed the Marikina Polytechnic College Reinnovate Shoes and Other Leathercrafts for Entrepreneurship Startups Technology Business Incubator (MPC ReSOLES TBI) representatives, Dr. Dionell Chris Batoon (Project Lead), Prof. Jerry F. Napay, Jr. (Incubation Program Manager), and Dr. Arnold Johnsen R. Acedera (Internal Coordinator), for a local study mission that aimed at fostering collaboration and sharing best practices in promoting innovation, entrepreneurship, and technological advancements in the region.
It is noted that the Cagayan State University (CSU), where two TBIs in the region are housed - BizNEST and CVLTBI - together with the SINAG Cagayan Valley, a regional startup consortium, play a pivotal role in strengthening the startup ecosystem in the region.
Dr. Junel B. Guzman, TBI Manager and Consortium Director, presented how CSU-TBI and the consortium nurture startups by offering a wide range of services. She highlighted CSU-TBIβs mentorship programs, training workshops, and access to resources such as co-working spaces, prototyping facilities, and networking events with investors and industry experts.
Key insights were shared on how technology integration and strong local government support can fast-track technology commercialization and boost startup sustainability. Discussions also explored common challenges faced by regional incubators and how to address them.
The visit concluded with a mutual understanding that strengthening TBI operations through knowledge sharing and collaboration will not only uplift local entrepreneurs but also contribute significantly to the broader goal of inclusive innovation in the country.
