In accordance with the provisions of Presidential Decree No. 269, which aims to facilitate rural electrification, the Pangasinan III Electric Cooperative, Inc. (now known as Pangasinan III Electric Cooperative) was established as the third electric cooperative within the province of Pangasinan. The cooperative serves the eastern portion of the province, encompassing an approximate land area of 1,1

58 square kilometers under its operational coverage. Formal registration with the National Electrification Administration (NEA), the government agency created by virtue of Republic Act No. 6038 to effectuate social, economic, and political reforms and achieve nationwide electrification, was completed on May 20, 1978. Pangasinan III Electric Cooperative is a distribution utility company dedicated to providing a stable and reliable power supply to the eastern region of Pangasinan, including the 16 towns and 1 city within our service area. Nagkakaroon ng Grid Alerts kapag may kakulangan sa generation supply at aberya sa transmission.

Pero alam mo ba?

Base sa datos, karamihan ng Red at Yellow Alerts ay dahil sa problema sa generation lalo na kapag biglang nagsa-shutdown ang mga planta.

Kapag nangyari ito, biglang bumababa ang available na supply ng kuryente, kaya mas mataas ang posibilidad ng rotational brownouts.

Ano ang kailangan?

Mas maraming reliable at stable baseload power plants sa tamang lugar para masigurong tuloy-tuloy ang supply ng kuryente.

17 plants are on forced outage since May, 1 plant since April, 3 plants since March, 1 plant since February, 3 since January, 3 plants since 2025, 2 plants since 2024, and 1 plant out since 2019; while 14 plants are running on derated capacities, for a total of 4,828MW unavailable to the grid.

The extension of the Red and Yellow Alerts is due to the tripping of GNPD Unit 1, resulting in the loss of 668 MW and further aggravating the supply deficiency.

The Tayabas-Ilijan 500kV Line and the Dasmarinas-Ilijan 500kV Line were restored on 13 May 2026 at 2:44PM and 4:52PM, respectively. We are waiting for all the affected plants to resynchronize back to the grid.

A red alert status is issued when power supply is insufficient to meet consumer demand and the transmission gridโ€™s regulating requirement.

A yellow alert is issued when the operating margin is insufficient to meet the transmission gridโ€™s contingency requirement.
