Baclaran IS DROWNING IN GARBAGE — AND THE RAIN DIDN’T CREATE IT. IT REVEALED IT.
Up to 400 TONS of garbage.

Read that again.

Following days of heavy monsoon rains in Metro Manila, the Redemptorist Water Channel in Baclaran, Parañaque was overwhelmed by a massive accumulation of waste.

Plastic bottles.
Food packaging.
Household waste.
Debris.

What looked like a “sea of trash” became one of the most disturbing reminders yet of Metro Manila’s waste crisis.

And this is bigger than Baclaran.

Rain moves water.
Water moves garbage.
Garbage clogs waterways.
Clogged waterways worsen flooding.

That means the plastic we casually throw away doesn't simply disappear.

It can travel from streets and communities into canals, rivers, esteros and eventually Manila Bay — only to come back during the next heavy rain.

In Baclaran, authorities have already hauled away hundreds of tons of waste, with reports putting the eventual cleanup at as much as 400 tons.

And officials are now openly calling it a “garbage crisis.”

💔 This is not just an eyesore.

It is a flood risk.
It is a waterway problem.
It is a public health concern.
And it is a plastics problem.

This is why Aaron Industrial and Purpose for Plastics PH keeps saying: our plastic waste problem cannot be solved by cleanup alone.

We need:
-Better waste segregation
-Stronger enforcement against littering and illegal dumping
-Communities that take responsibility for what they throw away
-Producers taking greater responsibility for the packaging they put into the market
-More systems that keep valuable plastics in circulation instead of waterways
-Protection of our rivers, esteros and Manila Bay

Because cleanup is necessary — but prevention is the real solution.

The workers clearing this mess deserve our respect. But they shouldn't have to repeatedly risk their health and safety cleaning up waste that should never have entered our waterways in the first place.

Baclaran is a warning.

The question isn't just:

"Sino ang maglilinis?"

The bigger question is:
"Bakit patuloy tayong gumagawa ng basurang kailangang linisin?"

Aaron Industrial Purpose for Plastics PH believes we can do better.

Not tomorrow.

Now.

Why You Should Stop Using Polystyrene (PS) or Styrofoam – And How We Can Help with Waste Management 🍔🚫

Polystyrene (PS)—the foam in your takeout containers, cups, and packaging—is a major environmental threat. Here's why even fast-food chains have stopped using Styrofoam:

❌Not Recyclable: PS can't be processed in most recycling systems. It’s bulky, light, and often contaminates everything around it, making it a recycling nightmare. 🚯

❌Environmental Damage: It breaks into tiny, dangerous microplastics that linger in our oceans and landfills for centuries. 🐋💔

❌Health Concerns: Studies show that PS can leach harmful chemicals into food and drinks, raising concerns about its impact on human health. ⚠️

Fast-food giants have switched from Styrofoam to more eco-friendly packaging to reduce waste and protect our planet. 🌍✨

But what happens to the plastic waste we can’t avoid? That’s where effective waste management becomes crucial.

At Purpose for Plastics PH, we provide advanced machinery that helps businesses properly manage, recycle, and upcycle waste materials like plastics—ensuring that your business contributes to a cleaner, greener future. 🌱

Our innovative waste management solutions—like shredders, balers, and eco-brick machines—are designed to handle plastics efficiently and sustainably, turning waste into valuable resources. ♻️

If you’ve noticed the air feeling heavier lately, there’s a reason—and it’s not just “haze.”

A massive fire broke out at the Navotas Sanitary Landfill,

sending thick, toxic smoke across communities and turning something we rarely think about into something we can no longer ignore.
Because this wasn’t just a fire.

It was a system failure—one that’s been building up quietly for years. READ ABOUT IT ON OUR BLOG. Link in the comments

🚨 Your Trash Area Might Be Telling You Something
If your organization is experiencing any of these:

❗ Overflowing waste bins
❗ Rising garbage hauling costs
❗ Recyclables still being thrown away
❗ Messy, hard-to-manage waste areas

…it may be time to rethink your solid waste management system.
Many businesses generate large amounts of plastic, glass, and packaging every day.

But without the right systems in place, most of these materials end up in landfill—when they could actually be recovered, processed, and given a second life.

In our latest blog post, we talk about the warning signs organizations should not ignore and how waste solutions like:

♻️ Plastic Shredders
♻️ Glass Pulverizers
♻️ Baling Machines
♻️ Eco Brick Machines
♻️ Conveyor Belt Systems
can help facilities reduce landfill waste and move toward more responsible waste management.

This also supports the goals of the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000, which encourages waste reduction, segregation, and recovery.
