Established in 2013, GBIST hosts a magnificent educational complex on Main Karakoram Highway. The motivation behind this institution's establishment is to provide the best quality of education using modern pedagogy aided by technology. We believe in women empowerment through education; hence GBIST especially encourages vibrant women of Gilgit-Baltistan to be a part of this institution. Another maj
or motivation for establishing this institution is developing a platform that can provide technical education to students so that they have the required set of skills to compete in the job market. These vocational training will also enable students to explore indigenous resources such as hydro-power, mining/gems, forest/ wildlife, fruit preservation, and tourism services, and other trades, i.e., Information Technology and Paramedics. The School of Allied Health Professions is the first recognized Allied Health Institute in Gilgit-Baltistan. The department offers eight categories of 2 years diploma programs (except for Dispenser, which is one year course), which have been specifically selected by studying the health sector of Gilgit Baltistan. We are optimistic that by training students in these fields, we can play a vital role in improving the health sector of Gilgit-Baltistan.
