I am delighted to share that the dedicated team of the department of Mechanical Engineering at UET Taxila has developed First of its kind, ๐๐๐ค-๐๐ง๐๐๐ฃ๐๐ก๐ฎ, ๐๐ฃ๐๐ง๐๐ฎ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ฃ๐ฉ and ๐พ๐ค๐จ๐ฉ-๐๐๐๐๐๐ฉ๐๐ซ๐ Solar Assisted Desiccant Based Indirect Evaporative Air Cooler under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Muzaffar Ali, Nadeem Sheikh, and Dr. Hassan Ali. It will provide alternate solutions to Pakistanโs community in view of rise in electricity prices, high demand for the indoor thermal comfort.
The innovative facets of the system are its solar thermal system, Two rotors Desiccant Rotor and Heat Wheel Rotor, intercooling design to accentuate dehumidification and assimilate the heat absorbed by evacuated tube solar collectors. The system offers multiple modes of operability. It can operate in hot dry conditions and efficiently work in hot humid conditions. Specially in hot humid climate performance of system is higher than conventional AC by using less energy. It is a thermally versatile as it serves well for space air heating by catching heat from sun through evacuated solar collectors.
Solar Assisted Desiccant based indirect evaporative cooler novel system in Pakistan to address the thermal comfort issue in reasonable operation price. This system can be use resident buildings, commercial buildings and as well industries like Energy, pharmaceutical, textile, surgical, food and electronics industry.
