World Space Week-IST

World Space Week-IST World Space Week (WSW) is an international celebration of space science and technology. The theme for this year is "Space for Human Safety and Security".

IST celebrates WSW from October 4 - 10, every year since 2005 with a view to generate space awareness among school/college/university students. In 1999, the United Nations General Assembly declared 4-10 October as World Space Week. Pakistan is endeavoring to enter the realm of Space Science & Technology and related applications. In past couple of decades we have seen considerable advances in this

field. The success of any space program relies greatly on public understanding and support. It is, therefore important to communicate the benefits of Space Technology in collaboration with our National Space Agency (SUPARCO) to the public on regular basis. Earth observation, navigation and telecommunication satellites are used every day to protect humans and safeguard our environment. Institute of Space Technology has planned to hold various events at its campus from 4-6 October 2012. We invite students of your prestigious institution to participate in these events.

๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŒŒ World Space Week 2025 โ€” A Galactic Celebration! ๐ŸŒŒ๐ŸŽ‰

Following the legacy of last 20 years, The Institute of Space Technology (IST) proudly celebrates World Space Week 2025 (World Space Week-IST), marking one of โ€™s largest and most significant space education events. Organized by the Space Education Research Lab (SERL) , Space Education and Outreach - NCGSA of the National Center of GIS and Space Applications at Institute of Space Technology, this major celebration brings together participants from more than 45 schools and colleges, engaging over 1,500 students competing across 36 events divided into 6 major categories. These categories span science, engineering, innovation, and creativity, from satellite design and aerospace exploration to space policy and art.
Aligned with the global theme โ€œLiving in Space,โ€ the event highlights ISTโ€™s and SERLโ€™s shared mission to inspire curiosity, nurture innovation, and empower young minds to shape the future of space exploration. Each module is thoughtfully designed to encourage critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving, while showcasing Pakistanโ€™s advancing capabilities in space science and technology.
