We are incredibly proud to spotlight the journey of Sualeh Asif, an exceptional alumnus of the STEM Careers Program, a joint venture of Higher Education Commission, Pakistan and PIEAS. His co-founded startup Cursor AI is set for a $60 billion acquisition deal with Elon Musk’s SpaceX. He represented Pakistan team at International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO) on multiple occasions and won a bronze medal for Pakistan in 2017. His stellar performance and participation in the IMO didn’t just earn him accolades but it also paved the way for his admission into MIT. Sualeh story proves that with the right platform, Pakistani students can compete with the best and secure their place in global tech industry.

During the second training camp of the National Chemistry Talent Contest (NCTC) at PIEAS, Programme Director Prof. Dr. Waqas Ahmed met with the participants to discuss their future academic paths. He shared exciting news regarding special career incentives designed for students who reach the International Science Olympiads (ISOs). These benefits include direct admission to both PIEAS and IST without the need for an entrance exam, along with dedicated scholarships for all ISO participants and medalists to support their higher education.

PIEAS successfully hosted the second physical training camp of the National Chemistry Talent Contest (NCTC) from March 29 to April 5, 2026. under the umbrella of STEM Careers Program, a joint venture of Higher Education Commission, Pakistan and PIEAS. This intensive eight-day residency served as a critical milestone in the selection process for Pakistan’s national chemistry team. The camp brought together the country’s top 15 pre-finalists, a cohort of exceptionally gifted students who underwent a grueling series of theoretical and practical evaluations. These students were competing for one of the four coveted slots to represent Pakistan at the upcoming International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO) in July 2026.
The training was spearheaded by experts from the Department of Chemistry (DChy) at PIEAS, supplemented by guest trainers from renowned universities and allied research organizations, ensuring a multidisciplinary approach to complex problem-solving. The conclusion of the camp was marked by a formal certificate distribution ceremony to honor the hard work and dedication of the participants. Dr. Sajid Mushtaq, Head of the Department of Chemistry (DChy)
and Prof. Dr. Waqas Ahmed, Programme Director distributed the certificates among the participants.
