As part of Aeronautics Hercules 3.0, supported by the National Center of GIS and Space Applications (NCGSA), participants visited the Space Education and Outreach - NCGSA Research Lab (SERL) , Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) Research Lab and IST Astronomical Observatory - IAO at the Institute of Space Technology.

The visit provided participants with an overview of the laboratories, ongoing research activities, and the role of space science and satellite navigation technologies in education, research, and practical applications.

A dedicated Solar Observatory session was also conducted, introducing participants to solar observations, solar activity, and its relevance to space weather and the near-Earth space environment.

The engagement provided a valuable academic and technical exposure, complementing the broader learning objectives of Aeronautics Hercules 3.0.

Prof. Dr. Najam Abbas Naqvi, Chairman, National Center of GIS and Space Applications (NCGSA), Institute of Space Technology, was invited to deliver a guest talk titled โ€œSpace Technology & Applications: Empowering Life on Earthโ€ at the STEMX Summer School, held at the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), on 29 July 2026.

The session highlighted the important role of space technology in communication, navigation, Earth observation, disaster management, environmental monitoring, and everyday life.

More than 40 students participated in the session and actively engaged with the concepts and real-world applications presented. The talk encouraged young learners to explore the rapidly growing fields of space science, technology, and innovation.

The 10th Space Summer School, organized by the Space Education and Outreach - NCGSA Research Lab (SERL) of the National Center of GIS and Space Applications (NCGSA), concluded after five enriching days of immersive learning, expert-led sessions, and hands-on activities in space science and technology.

The programme brought together 70 participants from more than 30 schools, offering a comprehensive 30-hour learning experience, including 12 hours of lectures and 18 hours of hands-on activities. Participants explored astronomy, aviation, rocketry, satellite technology, and Earth observation through activities including CanSat design, development and launch, RC aircraft flights, telescopy workshops, solar observations, satellite imagery analysis, aqua rocket launches, and interactive scientific demonstrations. A visit to SUPARCO also provided valuable insights into Pakistanโ€™s satellite missions, national space capabilities, and Space Vision 2040.

We are thankful to more than 25 national and international subject matter experts for their valuable contributions, which greatly enriched the learning experience. A big applause to the IST student management team for their dedication and efforts in making this event a remarkable success.

The students demonstrated remarkable curiosity, enthusiasm, discipline, and dedication throughout the programme. Their active engagement in lectures, workshops, practical activities, and discussions played a vital role in making the 10th Space Summer School a meaningful and successful learning experience.
