“The future will either be green or not at all.” Bob Brown
Electricity bills and energy burden, not to mention the associated pollution, are exponentially growing as Pakistan’s 75% of energy mix constitutes fossil-fuels based production. Also, air-conditioning has the largest share of the building electricity usage; therefore, Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning (HVAC) industry is constantly occupied with increasing the energy efficiency, eco-efficiency and users’ affordability of the air-conditioning. GTP addresses these challenges as it reduces the users’ reliance on electrical grid and increases affordability, alongside reducing the climate guilt.
GTP will aid in realization of the following three Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
i. SDG No. 7: Affordable and clean energy – through utilization of everlasting, freely available, non-polluting and renewable energy source.
ii. SDG No. 9: Industry, innovation and infrastructure – by capitalizing on the existing infrastructure, i.e. it retrofits the HVAC system in use.
iii. SDG No. 11: Sustainable cities and communities – with the incorporation of energy source available within the vicinities of buildings, will lead to reduction in carbon footprint and ecological footprint
In brief, it will mitigate the rising global temperatures, increasing pollution and skyrocketing costs for comfortable indoor environment.
