Tonight as you sit with your families, just imagine for a second, how would it feel if all the men and the little children in your family are slaughtered right before your eyes, and your women are taken captive and paraded through the streets. Merely imagining this would be devastating for any being.
Now think about how on this very day, all of this actually happened to the Prophet's family, who we all claim to love and revere. Hussain ibn Ali (AS) sacrificed everything in the way of Allah, to the extent that even his six month old son was not only killed by the enemy but was also beheaded and put up on a spear right before his mother's eyes.
Don't lament, or even shed a tear over the greatest tragedy that mankind has ever seen, but take out a minute and at least thank Imam Hussain (AS) for saving Islam and humanity.
