The Society is an international, non-governmental, non-profit, scientific organization, founded in 2014. The objective of the Society is to engage in all activities intended to promote in Pakistan the development of metallurgy and materials as a branch of science and engineering. .Metallurgy and Materials deals with the scientific study of the extraction, refining, alloying, and fabrication of met
als and of their structure and properties and the study of the characteristics and uses of the various materials, such as metals, ceramics, and plastics that are employed in science and technology. The Society is governed by metallurgy and materials department of Dawood University composed of elected and co-opted members. Activities within the field of metallurgy and materials range from fundamental research on the technique or science of separating metals from their ores to applied research in engineering. The approaches used comprise theoretical, analytical, computational and experimental methods. The Society will be guided by the teachers of Dawood University of Engineering and Technology Karachi Pakistan. In particular, the Society will pursue this objective through:

4. Educational lectures by highly qualify teachers

6. The establishment of links between students and society including industry engaged in scientific work in metallurgy and materials and in related sciences;

The Society welcomes to membership in the Society all those who are interested in the advancement and metallurgy and materials. It also bestows honorary membership, prizes and awards to teachers and students who have made exceptionally important and distinguished contributions.
