MEF Meets Chairman PEC at Graduate Engineer Trainee Program MoU Signing Ceremony
Karachi: Chairman Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC), Engr. Waseem Nazir, invited Mehran Engineers Forum (MEF) to attend the MoU Signing Ceremony of the Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET) Program, held at PC Karachi. The ceremony marked a key milestone where Pakistan’s leading public and private sector companies formally engaged to hire and train fresh engineering graduates under the GET Program.
During the event, Engr. Waseem Nazir shared his professional journey, work experience and key achievements with MEF members. He appreciated the consistent and constructive role of Mehran Engineers Forum, particularly its efforts in supporting young engineers and raising professional issues at national forums.
Chairman PEC highlighted that, based on the demand and recommendations put forward by MEF, PEC is actively working to integrate engineers’ data with NADRA’s portal. He also shared updates on specialized training initiatives being developed in collaboration with the National Defence University. In addition, he briefed participants on the Graduate Engineer Trainee Program, which offers a monthly stipend of PKR 50,000 to trainee engineers placed with partner organizations.
The meeting and ceremony were attended by senior members of Mehran Engineers Forum, including Engr. Sanaullah Soomro, Engr. Syed Akbar Shah, Engr. Tahir Saeed Bhutto, Engr. Sadam Hussain, along with other respected engineers and MEF representatives.
Both PEC and MEF reaffirmed their shared commitment to improving professional development, capacity building, and creating practical employment pathways for engineers across Pakistan.
