Pakistan Hardware Merchants Association (PHMA) is a true representative of Hardware Industry and related businesses throughout Pakistan. Its members are mainly importers, exporters, manufacturers, traders. Hardware is the mother industry of all industries and so it contributes greatly to
the national economy. PHMA was established in 1961 after merger of several small associations. It was awarded an A Class Association status in 1963. It is affiliated with the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI). The main purpose of Pakistan Hardware Merchants Association is to facilitate the Business community in general and the hardware Industry in particular to promote Hardware Trade in Pakistan and aboard. The association encompasses many sectors and cover product lines like Hand Tools, Adhesives, Fasteners, Screws, Bolts nuts, Nails, Abrasives, Power Tools, Pneumatic Tools, Chains, Ropes, Wire Net, Building Hardware, Garden Tools, & Allied Industry-Pipes, Pumps, Compressors, Water Filters, Pipe Fittings, Generators, Agriculture and industrial Machinery with Parts V-Belts, Conveyer Belts, Safety Equipment, Industrial Equipment, Mill Store items and Iron & Steel Industry etc. These sectors are major contributors to the national exchequer by way of Custom Duty, Sales Tax and Income Tax. These sectors are primarily import based, but there is a growing awareness to involve itself in manufacturing and export. Hardware items are mainly imported from China, Italy, Switzerland, France, Germany. Africa, Middle East , Bangladesh are the major export markets of our members. Pakistan Hardware Merchant Association also organizes International Hardware Exhibitions in which world renowned exhibitors attend. The association is amongst the few trade bodies of Pakistan that received appreciation from the Government of Pakistan and worldwide.
