Urban renewal in DHA Karachi - Transformation of commercial zones

In October 2024, the first segment of Phase 2 DHA Karachi was inaugurated, marking a significant transformation of the area that had been neglected for a long time. The once-unhygienic restaurant frontages with no space for people to gather and the disorganized parking that left no room for pedestrians were all addressed.

CGDC designed the space in a manner to create a public piazza flexible enough for people to define themselves, while also offering organized parking spaces that allow for more room for cars and open up areas for the community. These interventions in DHA Karachi create community clusters that reflect the true essence and culture of the community. They also promote local businesses and help to address social imbalances.
