INTRODUCTION RISE UP AMUOBA PANEL
The "Rise Up AMUOBA Panel" is a dynamic and forward-thinking team of dedicated individuals who are committed to ushering in a new era of excellence and progress for the educational institutions under the Aligarh Muslim University Old Boys' Association (AMUOBA). As we stand on the precipice of an important election for the leadership of these esteemed institutions
, our panel emerges as a beacon of hope and positive change. Nizami, the pioneering minds behind the establishment of Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology (SSUET) and Aligarh Institute of Technology (AIT), were visionaries whose dedication and commitment to education left an indelible mark on the landscape of engineering education in Karachi. Their journey and contributions to these institutions, along with their enduring legacies, are a testament to their unwavering commitment to the advancement of knowledge and the betterment of society. Muhammad Zakir Ali Khan, a representative of Aligarh culture and ethos, was a multifaceted personality. His contributions extended beyond engineering, as he was also a renowned name in the field of Urdu literature. His motto, "Everyone should contribute something of value to society," reflects his profound commitment to making a meaningful impact on the world around him. He served as the Honorary Secretary General of AMUOBA for over 50 years, demonstrating his enduring dedication to the cause. Nizami, often referred to as the "Sir Syed of Pakistan" or "Sir Syed Sani," was a prominent figure in the Aligarh Muslim University Old Boys' Association (AMUOBA). His unwavering dedication to the mission and principles of Sir Syed Ahmed Khan played a pivotal role in strengthening the association. Throughout his life, he carried forward the torch of Sir Syed's vision, ensuring that the values of enlightenment and education continued to flourish. The rapid establishment of AIT in 1989 and SSUET in 1994 within a span of just five years stands as a remarkable achievement, a testament to their foresight and determination. For nearly two decades, SSUET earned a well-deserved reputation as a top-tier university for engineering education in Karachi under their guidance. The growth and reputation of the institutions they nurtured began to wane, causing a sense of loss within the institute. Muhammad Zakir Ali Khan's belief that "Institutions to be preferred over personalities" remains a guiding principle. In line with this vision and a profound sense of responsibility, the Rise Up AMUOBA Panel was formed by senior Aligarians and senior SSUETians. Their mission is to reignite the institutions' upward trajectory, uphold the legacy of the founders, and restore the stature of AMUOBA, SSUET and AIT. We feel that there is still a lot to be done as there is a much scope for development and improvement in these institutions as clearly reflected in our Manifesto. The Rise Up AMUOBA Panel embodies the spirit of continuity, progress, and commitment to the values espoused by Engr. Nizami and Engr. Muhammad Zakir Ali Khan. Their vision is to ensure that these educational institutions continue to be beacons of knowledge, enlightenment, and positive change for generations to come. Our vision is rooted in the timeless principles and values espoused by Sir Syed Ahmed Khan, the visionary founder of MAO College. We believe in the transformative power of education and its role in shaping a brighter future for our community and the nation at large. With this conviction, we have come together to offer a dynamic and innovative leadership approach. The Rise Up AMUOBA Panel seeks to unite the Alumni Community of Aligarh Muslim University and Sir Syed University in a common cause – the advancement of AMUOBA and its educational institutions. We invite you to join us in this journey towards a brighter future, where Sir Syed's legacy is not just preserved but also rejuvenated for generations to come.
