Many people ask: “DPC 2 inches honi chahiye ya 3 inches?”

🔹 DPC doesn't have one fixed standard width for every situation.
🔹 The DPC level is extremely important and should be properly coordinated with the surrounding construction.
🔹 In some situations, you may need 2, 3, 4 or even 5 inches of DPC to achieve the correct level.
🔹 Don't forget the locking points, especially where the internal wall meets the double-DPC arrangement. Proper DPC protection at these points is essential. 🧱

Have you often noticed cracks appearing above the joint of lintel and brick masonry? 🤔

The main reason is thermal expansion, because bricks and concrete lintels expand and contract at different rates due to temperature changes. This creates stress at the joint and causes cracks over time.

To prevent these cracks, install wire mesh (chicken mesh) over the joint between the lintel and brickwork before plastering. It helps distribute stress evenly and reduces the chances of cracking. ✅
