As a signatory of the United Nations Global Compact since 2013, Packages Group co-hosted the closing of the 2025 Target Gender Equality (TGE) Accelerator with the Global Compact Network Pakistan, marking a key milestone in a journey that began with commitment and is now moving into structured implementation.
Launched globally in 2020, the TGE Accelerator was designed to move companies from intent to measurable progress. Packages Group joined in 2023 and participated in both cohorts, including Pakistan’s first locally led group, strengthening internal systems for target setting, tracking, and accountability across the organization.
Representing the Group, Ayesha Aziz, Group Manager Sustainability, shared Packages Group’s vision and implementation journey, positioning gender equality as a core pillar within the Group’s sustainability framework, and outlining how commitments such as the Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs) are being embedded into governance, operations, and decision-making across the business.
The closing session brought together over 50 participants from leading organisations including Sapphire Retail Limited (SRL), Fatima Group, Nishat Mills Ltd., MG Apparel, and MCB at Irshad Hall, fostering cross-industry dialogue on practical implementation.
The discussion featured Khalid Junejo (Executive Director, GCNP), Majyd Aziz (Board Director & Former President, GCNP), and Sabahat Bukhari (CEO, Inclusion Lab), along with key stakeholders including Falahat Imran from the Women’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (WCCI) and Yulia Bazhenova from Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GiZ), reflecting a strong multi-stakeholder commitment to advancing gender equality in business.
The focus ahead is clear: scale what works, embed accountability, and deliver measurable outcomes.
