SPADES Society for the Promotion and Development of Engineering and Sciences Many initiatives have been taken since then – PsiFi being our flagship.

SPADES is a student-run society at LUMS that is dedicated towards promoting Science and Engineering in Pakistan. The SPADES vision is, in essence, an extension of the vision of LUMS SSE – we hope to provide opportunities for students across Pakistan to further explore the wonders of science and technology as a competitive and invigorating field, and to develop in them an interest in solving real w

orld problems through knowledge and understanding. Our long-term aim is to significantly contribute in boosting Pakistan’s currently low scientific research output, and to play a role in getting this largely neglected sector the attention and support it deserves.

The pink Stanley enters a room before she does. If you’ve spotted it on a table, she’s within twenty feet, and she’s probably already decided where everyone is eating.

Her food knowledge remains unmatched and mildly suspicious. Nobody has more opinions per square kilometre of Lahore. The current fixation is Baradari’s ice, which she will explain at length whether or not you asked.

One weakness: cinnamon. A single stick could take her down.

Last year we said she multiexists. Nothing has changed except the title.

She plays Uno No Mercy the way other people file taxes: seriously, and with consequences. Regular Uno also works. Any Uno. She will win, or she will make sure nobody enjoys the game she lost.

Her Letterboxd is a shrine to La La Land. Her MacBook is life support. And her course plan can be summarised as “anything but SSE,” which is a bold position for someone enrolled at SSE.
