⚡ Industrial Electrical Safety & System Optimization Case Study
During a recent site visit to a solar-powered industrial facility, our engineering team identified a critical issue in the main electrical distribution system. The setup included a highly congested DB panel where multiple heavy power cables from grid supply, generator, and solar hybrid inverter were interconnected through a rotary changeover system.
The unorganized wiring layout and limited isolation made live current testing unsafe, resulting in multiple instances of electric shock risk to maintenance staff during clamp meter measurements.
🔍 Root Cause Analysis
Overcrowded and poorly structured DB panel
Unsafe integration of grid, generator, and inverter through a single rotary changeover
Lack of proper segregation between power sources
No dedicated busbar distribution system
Unsafe working conditions during live current testing
🛠️ Solution Implemented by Sunshine Power Team
Redesigned and reorganized the main distribution system
Installed a mechanically interlocked breaker-based changeover system (Grid / Generator separation)
Introduced a dedicated main copper busbar for structured power distribution
Divided and labeled all outgoing feeder circuits for clarity and safety
Improved accessibility and eliminated live working hazards
