This ESOLS Flow Visualization (Hele-Shaw) Apparatus used to study various source and sink arrangements, and look at flow around an unlimited variety of different shaped models. This Apparatus can be used to visualize streamline fields for flows around drag bodies and flow through changes in cross-section.

The streamlines are displayed in color by injecting a contrast medium (ink). Sources and sinks are generated via four water connections in the bottom plate. The streamlines can be clearly observed through the glass plate during flow around and flow through. The water flow rate and the quantity of contrast medium injected can be adjusted by valves. The water connections are also activated by valves and can be combined as required. Individual models can be cut out of a rubber plate that is included.

This unit can be operated by Laboratory supply of with any Hydraulic Bench.

ESOLS Climbing and Falling Film Evaporator Plant allows the operating behaviour of a rising and Falling film evaporator to be investigated. The untreated solution is fed from the feed tank below into the evaporator. The evaporator is a double pipe heat exchanger that is heated by steam. The steam pressure on the casing side is adjusted with a PID controller. A cyclone is installed after the evaporator to separate the evaporated solvent and the concentrated solution. The solvent vapour removed is condensed in a water-cooled condenser and collected in a tank. The concentrated solution can also be collected in a tank or fed back into the evaporator for the concentration to be increased further.

ESOLS Gas Absorption and Desorption Column. As Absorption is used to remove one or more gaseous components from a gas flow using a solvent. In this Apparatus first of all, a CO2 and air gas mixture are produced. It is possible to adjust the mixing ratio using valves. The flow rates of the gas components are displayed on LCD Display.

A compressor delivers the gas mixture into the lower section of the absorption column. In the column, part of the CO2 is separated in the counter-flow with the solvent. Water is used as the solvent. The CO2 is absorbed by the downward flowing water. To separate the absorbed CO2, the charged water is then fed from the lower section of the absorption column into a desorption column. As the pressure is reduced and the temperature is increased, the solubility of the CO2 falls. A heater heats the water. A water jet pump generates negative pressure in the desorption column and causes the CO2 gas to be emitted from the water. A pump then delivers the regenerated solvent back into the absorption column.

The ESOLS Tray Dryer apparatus can be used to investigate and demonstrate the process of convection drying of granular solids. Three corrosion resistant removable plates are available for drying the solid. They are put in a drying channel. The plates containing the solid to be dried are exposed to airflow in the channel. The airflow heats the solid and also removes the quantity of humidity that is released. Air velocity can be adjusted by the speed of a fan. An adjustable heater allows the heating of the air. The transparent door in the drying channel allows the drying process to be observed. A digital balance can be used to follow the changes in weight of the solid due to evaporation or vaporization of quantity of humidity during operation. The air temperature and the relative humidity of the air are measured and digitally displayed by a single combined temperature and humidity sensor before and after the airflow passes over the solid. A further sensor measures the air velocity. The relevant measured parameters (changes in weight, humidity, temperature, air velocity) can be recorded from the indicator for processing and calculation.

ESOLS Computer Controlled Saturation Pressure Unit consists of a water boiler, including a computer controlled immersion heating element, and a sight glass to observe the boiling patterns in the water surface and control the water level in the boiler.
The saturated steam formed in the boiler passes through a throttle valve and is expanded to atmospheric pressure in a throttling calorimeter with the purpose of determining the dryness fraction of the saturated steam.
The temperature and pressure are measured after the boiler to determine the properties of the saturated steam, and after the expansion in the throttling calorimeter. In addition, a force

The Recirculating Air Conditioning Unit is designed to demonstrate key air-conditioning and refrigeration processes, including heating, cooling, humidification, de-humidification, mixing, and air recirculation. The system features a stainless-steel air tunnel equipped with sight windows, multiple hygrometers, temperature and pressure sensors, flow meters, a variable-speed axial fan, and electric pre-heater and re-heater elements. It allows complete study of the refrigeration cycle using R134a, including evaporator and condenser performance. All components—air cooler, heaters, humidifier, and fan—can be operated independently for detailed experiments. The system supports fresh-air and recirculating-air operation and includes ESOLS DAQ software for real-time data acquisition, graphing, and reporting via USB. The ESOLS Flow Measurement Methods Apparatus (SMT-FM-20) is designed to demonstrate and compare different techniques for measuring flow rate using various instruments. The unit includes a Venturi meter, an or***ce plate meter, and a rotameter, all constructed from durable PMMA, and applies Bernoulli’s principle to each measurement method. An eight-tube manometer is provided to record the pressure distribution across the Venturi nozzle and the or***ce plate, allowing for a clear understanding of fluid behavior. The apparatus is designed to be mounted securely on the SMT-FM-100 base module, which supplies water and measures flow rate, though it can also be operated directly using a standard laboratory water supply.
