Construction Progress Update 🚧

The project is moving forward with key foundation activities successfully completed.

✅ Excavation completed for the main foundation, water tank, and sump.
✅ Proper levels and dimensions verified before proceeding.
✅ Raft foundation concrete successfully placed as per approved specifications.

At this stage, special attention was given to:

• Excavation depth and alignment verification
• Soil condition assessment and stability checks
• Dewatering arrangements where required
• Proper compaction of the subgrade
• Reinforcement inspection before concrete placement
• Concrete quality control and workability checks
• Cover blocks and reinforcement spacing compliance
• Continuous monitoring during raft casting
• Safety measures for excavation and site personnel

A strong foundation is the backbone of every successful structure. Careful planning, quality control, and strict adherence to engineering standards ensure long-term durability and structural integrity.

🏗️ Things to keep in mind during excavation & water tank/sump placement (High-Rise Buildings)

While working on excavation and underground water tank/sump placement, here are a few important points I always keep in mind:

📌During Excavation:
- Check soil type and bearing capacity before starting
- Keep safe slope/shoring to avoid collapse
- Watch out for groundwater level, dewatering if needed
- Keep safe distance from nearby buildings/foundations
- Proper drainage so water doesn't accumulate
- Follow basic safety measures on site

📌Water Tank / Sump Placement:
- Keep it away from sewage lines to avoid contamination
- Maintain proper distance from building foundation
- Check soil bearing capacity at that specific spot too
- Proper waterproofing is a must, both inside and outside
- Leave access for cleaning and future maintenance
- Keep high water table in mind, can cause uplift issues
- Coordinate with plumbing layout early on

⚠️For High-Rise Buildings:
- Sump size should match total water demand (domestic + fire fighting)
- Structural engineer should check load on foundation/raft
- Avoid placing tank directly under main columns without proper design check
- Plan pump room and backup power for water supply

Small details like these save a lot of trouble (and cost) later on.
