The 2nd largest floating PV in Germany-with 7.5MW LONGi Modules! 🌊☀️

Over Waldmattensee in Lahr, Germany, one of Baden-Württemberg's largest floating PV systems (3 hectares = 3 football fields!) is now producing clean power constantly.

13,000 solar panels ride on 750 buoyant “boats,” locked together like an oversized jigsaw. The electricity first powers the operations of investor Vogel-Bau GmbH; any surplus flows into the public grid.

Just a hundred metres away, a bathing area bustles with swimmers, giving visitors an up-close reminder of how safe and eco-friendly solar can be.

As Markus Rebensburg, Managing Director of M/R Energiesysteme, puts it: “For us, building the plant here is a challenge, but also a dream.” The vision of harnessing sun for a sustainable future is now, quite literally, floating before our eyes.

The 100-megawatt Redstone Concentrated Solar Power Plant in Northern Cape, South Africa 🇿🇦, has commenced full operations and is now connected to the national grid. It is one of only two facilities in Africa that employ molten salt technology, thereby enabling power generation at night. The plant's 248-meter tower aggregates sunlight from 42,000 mirrors. The project is anticipated to augment power supply and foster local economic growth.
