❄️ COLD STORAGE SYSTEM – COMPLETE EXPLANATION ❄️

A cold storage system is designed to maintain very low temperatures (up to –23°C) to safely store meat, vegetables, fruits, ice cream, medicines, and frozen products.
🔁 Refrigeration Cycle (Easy to Understand)
Compressor → Condenser → Liquid Line → TXV → Evaporator → Back to Compressor
⚙️ Main Components & Working
🔹 1. Compressor (Heart of System)
• Compresses low-pressure gas into high-pressure hot gas
• Equipped with HP/LP safety switches for protection
🔹 2. Air-Cooled Condenser
• Fans remove heat from refrigerant
• Hot gas converts into high-pressure liquid
🔹 3. Liquid Receiver
• Stores liquid refrigerant
• Ensures smooth and steady flow
🔹 4. Filter Drier & Moisture Indicator
• Cleans refrigerant and removes moisture
• Indicator shows system condition
🟢 Green = OK | 🟡 Yellow = Moisture problem
🔹 5. Solenoid Valve (Pump-Down System)
• Opens when cooling starts
• Closes when set temperature is reached
• Protects compressor from damage
🔹 6. TXV (Thermostatic Expansion Valve)
• Reduces pressure
• Controls refrigerant flow to evaporator
🔹 7. Evaporator (Inside Cold Room)
• Absorbs heat from room
• Fans circulate cold air evenly
• Maintains deep freezing temperature
🔹 8. Temperature Sensors & Controller
• Room sensor checks room temperature
• Coil sensor checks evaporator temperature
• Digital display shows temperature (e.g. –23°C)
🔹 9. Defrost System
• Prevents ice formation on evaporator
• Works automatically (time/temperature based)
🔹 Return Line
• Refrigerant returns as low-pressure gas
• Cycle repeats continuously
