داسو ہائیڈروپارو پراجیکٹ سے بجلی کی پیداوار 2027 میں شروع ہوگی
چیئرمین واپڈا کا پراجیکٹ کی اہم سائٹس کا دورہ، تعمیراتی پیش رفت کا جائزہ لیا
24 جون 2025: چیئرمین واپڈا نوید اصغر چوہدری نے داسو ہائیڈروپاور پراجیکٹ کا دورہ کیا اور پراجیکٹ کی مختلف سائٹس پر تعمیراتی کام کا جائزہ لیا۔ ان سائٹس میں مین ڈیم، پاور ہاؤس، ٹرانسفارمر ز اورنوتعمیرشدہ قراقرم ہائی وے شامل ہیں۔ جنرل منیجر/ پراجیکٹ ڈائریکٹر داسو ہائیڈروپاور پراجیکٹ، کنسلٹنٹس اور کنٹریکٹرز کے نمائندے بھی دورے کے موقع پر موجود تھے۔
چیئرمین واپڈا نے دورے کے دوران پراجیکٹ پر پیش رفت کا جائزہ لینے کیلئے ایک اجلاس کی صدارت بھی کی، جس میں پراجیکٹ انتظامیہ نے انہیں پراجیکٹ کے اہداف اور ان پر ہونے والی پیش رفت پر بریفنگ دی۔ انہیں بتایا گیا کہ پراجیکٹ کی 20 مختلف سائٹس پر تعمیراتی کام بیک وقت تسلی بخش طور پر جاری ہے۔
بریفنگ میں حالیہ دنوں میں حاصل ہونے والے اہم اہداف کا ذکر کرتے ہوئے چیئرمین کوبتایا گیا کہ مین ڈیم کے دائیں اور بائیں پشتوں کی کھدائی مکمل کی جا چکی ہے۔ بریفنگ میں بتایا گیا کہ دائیں کنارے توسیعی بائی پاس ٹنل اور اوپن چینل بھی مکمل کیے جا چکے ہیں اور آئندہ ہائی فلو سیزن میں اضافی پانی کو گذارنے کیلئے مکمل فعال ہیں۔ پراجیکٹ انتظامیہ نے بتایا کہ مین ڈیم کی فاؤنڈیشن کی کھدائی جاری ہے اور اسی سال اکتوبر میں مکمل ہونے کی توقع ہے، جبکہ مین ڈیم میں رولرکمپیکٹ کنکریٹ ڈالنے کا عمل بھی مارچ 2026 میں شروع ہوگا۔ پراجیکٹ انتظامیہ نے بتایا کہ زیرزمین پاور ہاؤس کی کھدائی فروری 2026 میں مکمل ہوگی۔ اسی طرح 25 کلومیٹر طویل نوتعمیر شدہ شاہراہ قراقرم کی تکمیل بھی آئندہ سال مارچ میں متوقع ہے۔ شاہراہ قراقرم 7 ٹنلز اور 3 پُلوں پر مشتمل ہے۔ پراجیکٹ سے بجلی کی پیداوار 2027 میں شیڈول ہے۔
ملک کی توانائی کی ضروریات اور معاشی استحکام میں داسو ہائیڈروپاور پراجیکٹ کی اہمیت کو اجاگر کرتے ہوئے چیئرمین واپڈا نے کنسلٹنٹس اور کنٹریکٹرز کو ہدایت کی کہ پراجیکٹ کی بروقت تکمیل کیلئے تمام وسائل بروئے کار لائے جائیں۔ چیئرمین نے تعمیراتی معیار کے ملحوظ نظر کنٹریکٹرز کو تاکید کی کہ منصوبے کی تکمیل کیلئے معیار پر کوئی سمجھوتہ نہ کیا جائے۔
داسو ہائیڈروپاور پراجیکٹ خیبر پختونخوا کے ضلع اپر کوہستان میں دریائے سندھ پر تعمیر کیا جارہا ہے، اس منصوبے میں ورلڈ بنک کی مالی معاونت بھی شامل ہے۔ پراجیکٹ دو مراحل میں مکمل ہوگا، اس وقت واپڈا پراجیکٹ کا سٹیج I- تعمیر کررہا ہے، جس کی پیداواری صلاحیت 2 ہزار 160 میگا واٹ ہے۔ پہلے مرحلے کی تکمیل سے سالانہ 12 ارب یونٹ سستی اور ماحول دوست پن بجلی دستیاب ہوگی۔
یہ امر قابل ذکر ہے کہ پراجیکٹ ایریا میں لوگوں کی معاشی اور معاشرتی ترقی کیلئے اعتماد سازی اقدامات کے تحت 17 ارب 3 کروڑ 40 لاکھ روپے کی خطیر رقم مختص کی گئی ہے۔

Chairman WAPDA Reviews Construction Progress on Key Sites
June 24, 2025: Chairman WAPDA Naveed Asghar Chaudhry visited Dasu Hydropower Project today to review construction work on key sites, including the main dam, powerhouse, transformer cavern and the relocated section of the Karakoram Highway (KKH-1). The GM/PD Dasu Hydropower Project and representatives of the Consultants and the Contractors were also present on the occasion.
The Chairman also presided over a progress review meeting at the project office. The project management team briefed him about the targets and the achievements on the project. He was briefed that construction work is currently underway on 20 different sites and is progressing at a steady yet satisfactory pace.
Referring to the targets achieved so far and the milestones to be achieved in the days to come, it was briefed that the excavation works on both the right and left abutments of the main dam have been completed. The extended right bypass tunnel and the right-side open channel have also been completed and are ready to divert excess river flow during the high-flow season. Excavation of the main dam foundation is continuing and is scheduled for completion by October this year. Placement of Roller Compacted Concrete (RCC) in the main dam is expected to begin in March 2026. The excavation of the underground powerhouse is expected to be completed by February 2026, while the 25-kilometer-long relocated KKH-1-comprising seven tunnels and three bridges - is scheduled for completion by March 2026. Power generation from the project is expected to commence in 2027.
Highlighting the strategic importance of Dasu Hydropower Project for Pakistan’s energy needs and economic stability, the Chairman urged the Consultants and the Contractors to excel their efforts to meet the project timelines. Emphasizing upon the significance of maintaining the highest construction standards, the Chairman directed the Contractors to adhere to the stipulated quality standards for completion of the project.
The 4,320 MW Dasu Hydropower Project is being constructed on the River Indus in Upper Kohistan District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with the financial assistance of the World Bank. The project is planned to be completed in two stages. Currently, WAPDA is executing Stage I, which will have an installed capacity of 2,160 MW and generate 12 billion units of clean, green, and affordable electricity annually.
It is also important to note that Rs. 17.34 billion have been earmarked to execute Confidence Building Measure schemes for economic and social development of the people in the project area.
