VAXiCAN is a science-driven biotechnology company based on:

🔬 VAXiCAN Therapeutics – a division focused on developing novel eVLP cancer vaccines

🧬 VAXiCAN Genomics – Oxford Nanopore Technologies Official Provider: next-generation sequencing services VAXiCAN is a pre-clinical stage biotechnology company with vision to create Next Generation Immunotherapeutics, develops unique novel platform of th

erapeutic cancer vaccines based on proprietary enveloped virus-like particles (Enveloped VLPs), which provide the safest and most effective way of instructing and strengthening the Patient's anticancer defence mechanisms. VAXiCAN eVLP platform is widely supported by fully owned and in-house developed novel dedicated proprietary elements of machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI). The path chosen by the VAXiCAN is the use of naturally occurring or genetically modified oncolytic viruses using an innovative antigen delivery method using insect models (most similar solutions use mammalian, fungal or completely synthetic models). VAXiCAN eVLP vaccines are designed to present the extracellular domains of cancer antigens while leveraging the immune system's mechanism to mimic viral infection, thereby enhancing antigen presentation through the recognition of pathogen-associated molecular patterns (PAMPs). This strategy not only stimulates a strong adaptive immune response characterized by the production of high-affinity antibodies and cytotoxic T cells crucial for targeting tumor cells, but also actively engages natural killer cells supported by memory cells. breast cancer, neuroblastoma, melanoma as well as HPV/HBV-related cancers with potential of at least two first-in-class drug candidates and at least one in the orphan drug and fast track regulatory designations. VAXiCAN also operates in the field of modern whole viral and protein sequencing acting as Oxford Nanopore certified partner. We specialize in bioinformatic analysis of full genomes of microorganisms, including bacteria, bacteriophages, human and animal viruses as well as full human genomes.

🌎 BIO International Convention 2026
Four intense days. Dozens of meaningful conversations. One clear signal: the global biotech community is paying close attention to next-generation cancer immunotherapy and to what's coming out of Poland.

We were proud to be part of the Polish Pavilion alongside 30+ Polish biotech companies and institutions, organized by Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH). The interest in our eVLP cancer vaccine platform, tiny engineered particles that teach the immune system to recognize and fight tumors, was exactly the validation we needed heading into a pivotal second half of 2026.

The conversations we've started in San Diego don't end here. They're the foundation for partnerships we're building toward clinical readiness.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by. And thank you to PAIH for bringing to the world's biggest stage.

🔬 The work continues.

Our CEO Łukasz Rąbalski and CGO Mateusz Sagan are joining thousands of biotech leaders, investors, and innovators at , carrying with them a simple but powerful idea that started a few years ago in a lab in Gdańsk:
What if we could teach the immune system to fight cancer? Precisely. Safely. Efficiently.
That idea is now becoming a platform.

Our technology uses tiny engineered particles, designed to look like a virus, but harmless, to train the body's own immune system to recognize and destroy cancer cells. No guesswork. Targeted. Smart. Built on AI-driven science and next-generation sequencing.

Łukasz Rąbalski, PhD is a CEO & Chief Science Officer of

A scientist who made Polish history.
When the world needed answers during the pandemic, Łukasz was in the lab. As the first Polish scientist to isolate and publish the genetic sequence of SARS-CoV-2 directly from a Polish patient, he demonstrated the kind of scientific excellence and determination that defines everything he does.
But here's what makes his leadership at Vaxican truly special: he doesn't just understand science. He understands how to transform it into impact in industry.

Łukasz has been conducting research on virus-like particles since 2012, developing their applications as veterinary vaccines, antigen presentation vectors for human therapies, and diagnostic tools.

He specialises in cutting-edge molecular biology and next-generation sequencing . His expertise earned him the role of consultant to the United Nations and the Military Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology, and in 2023 he was awarded the individual MEiN Prize for scientific achievement.

His leadership philosophy:
🔹 Great science deserves great business ex*****on
🔹 Innovation thrives when scientists and entrepreneurs collaborate
🔹 must match excellence in the boardroom

As founder, majority shareholder, and the visionary behind Vaxican's proprietary eVLP platform, Łukasz leads with both rigour and vision.

We achieved all three promised . And in one area, we went nearly 5× beyond the target.
Team hits all three milestones that unlocked the second tranche of our , bringing total secured capital to over 9 million PLN.

What did we actually achieve?

1. A real R&D center, built from scratch
We now operate a 230 m² semi-industrial lab equipped with ~3.5M PLN worth of specialized instruments. This gives us the infrastructure that, until recently, only large pharma companies could access.

2. A proprietary purification process: confirmed
We developed our own method to isolate particles, the tiny, engineered structures at the heart of our cancer vaccine platform. Getting our particles pure, stable, and ready for clinical use was crucial for further development.

3. Production yield, nearly 5× above target
For our lead cancer vaccine candidate (eVLP-HER2, targeting -positive breast cancer), we achieved production output far exceeding the minimum required level. Higher yield = lower cost. Lower cost = a cleaner path to clinical trials and future manufacturing at scale.

And on the top of that: We also signed a 6.3M PLN EU-funded agreement to develop next-generation diagnostics for arboviruses: mosquito- and tick-borne diseases like dengue and Zika, which are expanding rapidly into Europe due to climate change.

We had the pleasure of presenting at the CANVAS Final Conference - Enhancing Cancer Vaccine Science for New Therapy Pathways, hosted by International Centre for Cancer Vaccine Science, University of Gdansk

Dr Łukasz Rąbalski, Founder & CEO of VAXICAN, delivered a talk on: "Development of an enveloped virus-like particle (eVLP) platform for therapeutic cancer immunovaccines: production scale-up and preclinical characterization of an HER2-targeting candidate"

The presentation covered Vaxican's progress in developing a modular, paramyxovirus-derived eVLP platform - designed as a scalable, off-the-shelf scaffold for therapeutic cancer vaccines targeting HER2-positive breast cancer. Preclinical work is carried out in consortium with Łukasiewicz - PORT, funded by the Medical Research Agency (Agencja Badań Medycznych) under the National Recovery Plan (KPO).

It was a valuable opportunity to connect with researchers working across cancer immunology, tumour biology and translational oncology - and to discuss how enveloped VLP technology fits into the evolving landscape of cancer immunotherapy.

otrzymał rekomendację do pozyskania finansowania z Agencji Rozwoju Pomorza na projekt "Innowacyjne metody diagnostyczne i terapeutyczne wobec zwiększonego zagrożenia arbowirusami spowodowanego zmianami klimatycznymi"

1. Stworzenie szybkiej, bezpiecznej metody diagnostycznej opartej na sekwencjonowaniu nanoporowym (ONT), umożliwiającej kompleksową charakterystykę genomową arbowirusów.

Celem jest dostarczenie narzędzia (prototypu systemu) gwarantującego bezpieczeństwo pracy i dostarczającego bogatych danych genomowych w czasie poniżej 48 godzin, z potencjałem wdrożeniowym w różnych laboratoriach.

2. Zbadanie i rozwój innowacyjnej metody terapeutycznej wykorzystującej nanocząstki (np. złota) zdolne do penetracji błon komórkowych i potencjalnej dezaktywacji wirusów in vitro.
