Koncepcja szklenia na istniejącym dachu drewnianym.
Wstępne założenia były dość ambitne — zakładaliśmy panele szklane o wymiarach nawet 3,0 × 2,5 m. Analiza wykazała jednak, że takie gabaryty nie są akceptowalne dla wykonawcy ze względu na ograniczenia transportowe oraz ograniczoną liczbę pewnych punktów podparcia w istniejącej konstrukcji drewnianej.
To dobry przykład na to, że etap koncepcji to nie tylko kreatywność, ale też zderzenie z realnymi ograniczeniami: logistyką, montażem i zachowaniem konstrukcji, na której pracujemy.
Śmiałe pomysły są potrzebne.
Odpowiedzialna inżynieria decyduje, które z nich mogą wejść w życie.
Concept design for glazing on an existing timber roof.
The initial assumptions were quite ambitious — we explored glass panels up to 3.0 × 2.5 m. However, the contractor confirmed that such dimensions were not feasible due to transport limitations and the limited number of reliable support points in the existing wooden structure.
This stage clearly shows that concept design is not only about creativity, but also about confronting real-world constraints: logistics, assembly and the behaviour of the structure we build upon.
Bold ideas are always welcome.
Responsible engineering decides which of them can become reality.
