Modern technologies are increasingly becoming a key element in building security and industrial resilience. This is one of the key takeaways that stayed with us after participating in the Poland Security Congress in Jasionka.

Among the many topics discussed, significant attention was given to manufacturing independence, innovation, and technologies supporting strategic sectors of the economy. 3D printing fits perfectly into this trend - especially metal 3D printing, which enables rapid production of specialized parts and helps shorten supply chains. We would like to thank the organizers and all participants for inspiring discussions and the exchange of experience.

This year, we had the pleasure of participating in Defence24 Days in Warsaw as Fibometry – a New Era Materials brand. At our booth, we showcased the real capabilities of industrial 3D printing, with a strong focus on both polymer (SLS, MJF, SLA, FDM) and metal (DMLS) technologies.

What stood out most?

The only EOS metal 3D printing system of its kind in Poland – a new stage in Fibometry growth!

Fibometry machine park has been expanded with an advanced industrial metal 3D printing system from EOS GmbH – a unique solution opening new possibilities for modern manufacturing.

🔸 4 lasers
🔸 400 × 400 × 400 mm build chamber
🔸 Inconel (nickel alloys), aluminum alloys, steels, titanium alloys and more
🔸 high productivity and process precision

This is another important step in developing our expertise in additive manufacturing and a direct response to the needs of the most demanding industries (automotive, defence, medical, sports, maintenance and repair operations…).

This new technology enables projects where traditional CNC machining is no longer sufficient – faster, more efficiently, and without design limitations. As always, we support our customers end-to-end: from design and material selection to the finished component.

Droniada Urban Forum 2026 – drones are moving from pilots to real urban deployment!

We would like to thank the Mikromakro Institute Foundation and the Metropolis GZM (Górnośląsko-Zagłębiowska Metropolia) for organising this valuable event at the International Congress Centre in Katowice, which clearly demonstrated how rapidly the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) ecosystem is developing in Poland.

The discussions brought together representatives of key institutions such as the Polish Air Navigation Services Agency (PANSA), the Civil Aviation Authority of Poland, and the Silesian University of Technology, along with public administration and industry representatives, who discussed real UAV deployments in urban environments.

Key topics included:
– UAV implementation in cities (infrastructure, monitoring, public safety)
– unmanned traffic management (UTM) and airspace integration
– development of Drone Service Centers for municipalities
– growth of dual-use solutions (civil and defence)

The key takeaway: UAV are becoming part of urban infrastructure, and the scale of their use will continue to grow rapidly.

This has a direct impact on manufacturing. There is increasing demand for:
👉lightweight and optimized structures
👉fast design iterations
👉flexible production

Before the question “Which 3D printing technology should we use?” comes up, it’s worth asking a different one first: what does this part need to do?
What matters for a presentation model is very different from what matters for a high-temperature component and different again for a part that must handle loads, be repeatable in production, and pass quality control. That’s why at Fibometry we don’t start with “What are we printing?” We start with: what the part is for, which parameters it needs to meet, and how many you need. Only then do we select the right technology and material - so the project is functional, cost-effective, and predictable to manufacture, from prototype to production.

Quick technology cheat sheet:
✅ SLS – strong polyamide parts, no support structures, ideal for functional components and complex geometries
✅ MJF – when repeatability and speed matter: excellent dimensional control, consistent results across batches, great for production runs
✅ SLA – when surface finish and detail matter: the best aesthetics, high precision, ideal for high-detail parts
✅ FDM – when size and engineering materials matter: large prints, high-temperature polymers, fast prototypes and tooling
✅ DMLS – when you need metal and maximum strength: fully functional metal parts for demanding environments, geometries not possible with conventional machining
