S4GA S4GA is a global supplier of certified airfield lighting systems for civil and military aviation.

For over a decade, we have designed, manufactured, and delivered solar and mobile AGL that strengthen airfield safety and operational capability worldwide. We deliver complete permanent airfield lighting that operates 365 days on solar and has 5-level protection against system failure. We deliver portable airfield lighting trailer for military and civil applications. We deliver certified temporary

airfield lighting for airport construction. We deliver portable helipad lighting for HEMS, air rescue, police, military and private helicopter operators.

Optics directly affect how much power an airfield lighting system consumes. More efficient light use means lower energy demand and higher operating time, ensuring system stability and predictability.

"In the case of S4GA CAT I Solar AGL, we put a great deal of time and effort into optimizing our optics to be as efficient as possible. And we actually reached an astonishing number of 97% efficiency, which in fact translates into extremely low power consumption," explains Łukasz Kornacki of S4GA in an interview with Derek Calloway, Director of Dewhurst Airfield Services.

The Middle East is one of the world’s most advanced and fast-growing regions, and its aviation industry is also investing in more sustainable airport infrastructure.

Solar airfield lighting is becoming part of this transition. Airports across the region are already integrating solar AGL systems, and S4GA is supporting this shift.

Ahmed Riad, S4GA Business Development Manager, works closely with these projects, bringing nearly 10 years of aviation experience and strong knowledge of local airport operations.

S4GA Military Trailers are equipped with an automatic floodlight mounted on an extendable mast.

It illuminates the area around the trailer, allowing troops to deploy and collect lights at night. Clear visibility supports faster turnaround in low-light conditions — and keeps operations on schedule.

S4GA integrates the full set of airfield lights into a single truck, capable of covering an entire runway. This keeps transport simple and avoids splitting the system across multiple assets.

All lights are securely fixed inside the truck for safe transportation, while remaining easy to handle during deployment.

Cost often becomes the deciding factor when evaluating solar airfield lighting.

But cost alone does not define how the system will behave in operation. Like any AGL system, a solar-powered one requires the same level of technical assessment as conventional. Without it, the installation may not match real operating conditions or deliver the expected outcome.

That is why each S4GA project follows a structured evaluation:

1. Clarifying the airport requirements
2. Feasibility assessment
3. AGL system design
4. Technical and commercial offer

We believe this is the right approach to the solar AGL project assessment.

Compliance is a core part of how airfield lighting systems are designed and assessed. For airport operators, it ensures regulatory approval and predictable performance in real operating conditions.

"All the light fittings that S4GA manufactures — high intensity, medium, or low intensity — are always in compliance with a number of regulations.

ICAO Annex 14, of course, is a major one, but apart from this, we also take into account multiple others, like FAA, CASA, EASA regulations, and even the British CAPs," shares Łukasz Kornacki of S4GA in an interview with Derek Calloway, Director of Dewhurst Airfield Services.

Airports do not select airfield lighting systems based on claims — each decision must align with ICAO, EASA, FAA, and other regional regulatory standards.

They create a common reference point for regulators, consultants, and operators involved in the decision.

In practice, this provides a level of assurance that the system will work safely and in line with standards used across the aviation industry. This makes the selection process more predictable and reduces the likelihood of delays or unexpected challenges later.

Compliance, in this context, is one of the visible markers of an established supplier — and a way for airports to move forward with greater confidence.

HIAL (UK) experience with S4GA Solar PRO Airfield Lighting — Derek Calloway, Dewhurst Airfield Services, shares in his interview:

"The system deployed now saves them a lot of time; they never have to worry about charging battery lights, and they've got full confidence in their system now.”

With the S4GA Solar Pro Airfield Lighting System installed, the Highlands and Islands Airports team can keep its attention on the airfield itself, not on managing the lights.

Airfields with limited traffic still require reliable and compliant airfield lighting.

The low-intensity Solar Standard system aligns with these requirements and matches actual operational needs without adding unnecessary infrastructure.

Each light operates as a self-contained unit, available on demand without dependency on external power or cabling.

“Each light is installed on a special drop-in charging platform, and the entire charging system can be powered by two means: 230 VAC or mobile generators stored at the back of the trailer.” — Dmytro Kuczeruk on the truck-based mobile AGL solution by S4GA.

Different options give crews more flexibility in the field. They reduce reliance on a single power source and help keep deployment moving under different site conditions.
