We are pleased to announce another important milestone in the clinical development of 📣

has completed the dose-limiting toxicity (DLT) observation period in all patients treated with OATD-02 at the 40 mg QD dose level. Following review of the data collected so far, and with approval from the Safety Review Committee (SRC), the study has progressed to the 80 mg QD dose level.

is a deubiquitinating enzyme frequently overexpressed in cancer and linked to stabilization of oncogenic proteins and immunosuppressive factors. Structure-guided discovery and SAR-driven optimization efforts yielded selective USP7 inhibitors to explore this therapeutic target, with OAT-4828 emerging as a potent lead compound. The screening cascade, which led to the discovery of OAT-4828 incorporated cellular system, including primary T cells, where the compound increased T-cell killing capacity without causing toxicity – highlighting a scientifically new role of USP7 in immune cell activation. The pharmacokinetic profile in mice and preliminary safety assessments of OAT-4828 enabled in vivo studies. OAT-4828 was well-tolerated in mice, demonstrating significant antileukemic activity in a syngeneic model of B-cell derived non-Hodgkin lymphoma without systemic toxicity.

One of the key substrates regulated by USP7 is . With several MDM2 inhibitors currently in clinical development, the p53-MDM2 axis is firmly validated as a critical therapeutic target. We were proud to have our team represented by Piotr Iwanowski (CMO), Theodoros Charitos (Medical Director) and Geolyce Mpofu (Director, Patient Recruitment and Site Engagement) at the 5th National Conference on Diagnosis and Treatment: Evolution and New Paradigms, held in Rome, Italy on April 17-18, 2026 and organized by ACSI - Amici Contro la Sarcoidosi Italia.

During the conference, our team shared insights on the ongoing Phase II study, evaluating in patients with active pulmonary sarcoidosis. has secured funding from the European Union for the project titled: “Preparation of the Eurogrant application planned to be implemented under the EIC Accelerator Open 2025 programme”, under Measure 02.12 “Grants for Eurogrants”, financed by the European Funds for a Modern Economy 2021-2027 programme. The grant agreement no. FENG.02.12-IP.02-0436/25 was signed on 30 March 2026.

The objective of the Project is to prepare an application for a Eurogrant under the Horizon Europe Framework Programme, within the EIC Accelerator Open call (https://ec.europa.eu/info/funding-tenders/opportunities/portal/screen/opportunities/topic-details/HORIZON-EIC-2026-ACCELERATOR-01), organised and centrally managed by the European Innovation Council and SMEs Executive Agency (EISMEA). The EIC Accelerator programme supports deep-tech innovations at TRL levels 6-9.

Scope of the Eurogrant: Preparation of the small-molecule drug candidate OATD-01 and its clinical development programme for the initiation of Phase III trials in the treatment of pulmonary sarcoidosis, as well as the development of strategic partnerships with pharmaceutical companies to enable the delivery of this breakthrough therapy to patients.

The Project result assumes the completion of the application evaluation process and obtaining a minimum score of 6/9 (“GO”) at the full application stage.
