We came back from Łódź with very good news 🏆

BioCam took 1st place in the SoDA - Software Development Association Poland & Benchy.it Startup Contest 2026. Our Sales Manager, Marek Szmigiel, represented BioCam on stage and spoke about BioCam, veterinary capsule endoscopy PetCam, and why working at the intersection of human and veterinary medicine has become so important to us.

For us, this kind of recognition matters because it sits close to the way we work every day. We are building veterinary medtech, but also software, AI, and a product that needs to work in practice, not just on slides.

It was a good room to be in, and a good crowd to be in front of. Founders, investors, and people who know the tech scene well, all gathered around the same thing: ideas that can actually move somewhere.

Thanks to SoDA, Benchy.it, the jury, and everyone who made the event happen, and congratulations to Rebench and Stepapp on their recognition.

A little late, but today we are back with a few impressions from the first veterinary conference where BioCam was represented by the Technomed team, our official PetCam by BioCam distributor in Poland.

The XXIV Stowarzyszenie Śląska Poliklinika Weterynaryjna POLIWET Conference in Wisła brought together around 250 veterinary professionals for three days of practical sessions, focused discussions, and shared experience around emergency cases and everyday clinical challenges.

At the Technomed stand, visitors could learn more about BioCam’s veterinary technology and see the full setup up close, including the data receiver, diagnostic pet's vests and the endoscopic capsule. It was a good opportunity to talk through how PetCam fits into real veterinary workflows and why it matters for GI diagnostics.

With the commercialization process underway, we can now meet more veterinary professionals at industry events, answer practical questions directly, and keep building awareness around capsule endoscopy in a way that is clear and grounded.

Recognition is important, but for us it matters most when it confirms that the problem we chose to solve is a real one.

Seeing our mission to make GI diagnostics less invasive, more accessible, and easier to bring into everyday practice recognized by a jury focused on future-facing ideas is a strong moment for us.

Masters & Robots Awards, organized by Fundacja Digital University and Masters&Robots, with the Ministerstwo Cyfryzacji as strategic partner, recognizes projects that combine innovation with real social value. We’re grateful to be among this year’s finalists, and we appreciate the time and attention of the jury.

When we started capsule studies in dogs, we did not expect how many “surprises” we would routinely meet along the way through the pet's GI tract.

Veterinary publications report that over 90% of dog owners admit they cannot fully control what their dog eats. At the same time, around 30% of veterinary visits are related to gastrointestinal problems. Put together, this means a lot of hidden stories inside the digestive system that standard observation from the outside will never catch.

During our pilot studies, BioCam capsules often met unexpected passengers: a wasp, a pinecone fragment, a worm, large amounts of hair and fur, grass, and many other artefacts that became part of our growing imaging dataset. Each case is a reminder that “mild stomach issues” can hide very real risks, especially when they repeat or stay unexplained.

A non‑invasive, capsule-based exam can show what is really happening along the entire GI tract and help vets move from guessing to evidence-based decisions before a problem becomes an emergency. Step by step, we are building tools that let vets see more, explain more to pet owners, and act earlier.

BioCam's logo is now officially EU trademark registered (No 019029744, published March 2, 2026 in EUIPO Bulletin 2026/040). This gives us strong IP footing as the company grows. 🌍

Over the years, we've learned a key lesson about making real progress. Instead of throwing all our energy at one goal, we work on several fronts at once: R&D, partnerships, regulatory steps, clinical prep, veterinary comercialization. Sure, it doesn't let us sprint ahead in a straight line. But each piece strengthens the whole. It builds a solid foundation, creates a network of reliable partners around us, and lets us scale sustainably right from the start.​

BioCam staying focused and balanced. 2026 is about turning that into growth.

Mid-series production is underway. 💊 🐶

Commercial rollout of PetCam has officially begun, bringing capsule endoscopy into everyday veterinary practice.

The real advantage of this technology lies in its accessibility. The examination can be performed in a two- or three-person small veterinary clinic, while image interpretation and reporting can be handled by a specialized center. No capital-intensive equipment. No complex infrastructure. A practical model that makes advanced diagnostics more widely available.

The capsule is easy for pet patients to swallow and examination does not require sedation or anesthesia. This significantly reduces procedural risk, particularly in small dogs, cats, and anxious animals, while eliminating the need for overnight hospitalization.

PetCam enables visualization of the entire gastrointestinal tract, with AI-supported analysis to assist veterinarians in efficient and reliable reporting.

From clinical validation to scaled production, we are focused on delivering diagnostics that are practical for clinics and safer for companion animals.

At the same time, our day-to-day work continues on the ground: advancing PetCam, our non-invasive capsule endoscopy system for companion animals, and preparing for medium-scale manufacturing so that minimally invasive gastrointestinal diagnostics can become accessible to more clinics.
