Scientific visit in Innsbruck 🇦🇹 

In June, as part of the Erasmus+ programme, together with our colleagues from the Department of Environmental Engineering (PWr), Ula and Ania, we had the opportunity to visit the University of Innsbruck in Austria.

The visit included intensive scientific meetings, discussions and exchanges of ideas 🔬 💡  Thanks to Monika, we learned more about the fascinating topic of mycelium based materials and their potential applications in architecture and space🍄 🚀 

We would like to thank dr Monika Brandić Lipińska Monika Brandić Lipińska and prof. Barbara Imhof Barbara Imhof for the warm welcome, the opportunity to visit the team, and the inspiring scientific discussions🥰 

We returned with new ideas, fresh motivation and beautiful memories of Innsbruck 🏔️ ✨

Torino scientific visit 🇮🇹

As part of the OxyELM project, we visited Politecnico di Torino in May 2026, where we had the pleasure of working with the team of Dr. Ignazio Roppolo.

During the visit, our group leader presented our research to the Politecnico di Torino community. We also performed rheological tests, worked on photorheology, and carried out our first volumetric printing trials with the XOLO system.
It was an intense but very inspiring time full of science, discussions and new ideas - with a little time to explore beautiful Torino as well 💙

Thank you to Dr. Ignazio Roppolo and his team for the warm welcome. We would also like to thank PhD student Francesco Schimmenti for the training and help with everything during our stay. We hope to see you again soon! ☺️

🆕Excited to share our new publication: "Biodesign of microalgae-laden engineered living materials via 3D bioprinting: a roadmap." 🎉🎉🎉

This publication takes the form of a pictorial, combining experimental data with a visual roadmap for researchers and biodesigners interested in developing microalgae based engineered living materials. It presents the key decisions involved in microalgae cultivation, bioink development, 3D bioprinting, and evaluation of living constructs, making it easier to enter this exciting research area.
