This was a gutted locker room in a Hell's Kitchen commercial building. Today it is the hydrotherapy spa at the heart of TMPL's aquatic wellness floor.
Between those two photos: structural load analysis, redundant waterproofing, mechanical space carved out of a building never designed for water, permits, and systems that hold temperature under real commercial demand.
So yes. It can be done in your building. It just cannot be done by a contractor learning on your project.
