NASA Technical Monitor, Dr. Tibor Kremic, visited Dr. Mayra Lebrón and Dr. Carmen Pantoja of UPR Río Piedras. They are implementing the NASA EPSCoR project “Paving the Way for Astrophysics Research in Puerto Rico”. They had an excellent review of the project and of its impact on so many UPR science students. The first day the meeting took place on campus; the second day was held in the Ateneo in Old San Juan. We thank Dr. Kremic for his valuable time and feedback to the project and students.

Seminar: "What controls star formation?" by Dr. Paul Goldsmith Friday March 24, 2023 at 12:30pm AST via Zoom.

Abstract: What controls star formation? is a key question in astrophysics, and one very important aspect of this is the interaction of newly-formed stars with their surroundings. The radiative and mechanical feedback from young, massive stars can be dramatic.
