OPTIMAL GROUP was pleased to participate in the Industry Day: How to do Business with NCIA & NSPA, bringing together key stakeholders from the Portuguese defence industry and representatives from NATO's procurement agencies.

Through OPTIMAL PROTECTION, the Group's dedicated defence company, we had the opportunity to reaffirm our long-standing commitment to supporting NATO programmes and to showcase the expertise that has positioned OPTIMAL GROUP as a trusted industrial partner for demanding defence applications.

Over the years, OPTIMAL GROUP has established itself as a leading manufacturer of advanced composite structures for the defence sector, with a strong focus on high-volume production programmes and long-term strategic partnerships.

At the event, OPTIMAL PROTECTION exhibited its UAV platform while engaging with representatives from NCIA and NSPA to present its broader defence portfolio, including USV solutions and Advanced Composite Ballistic Protection systems. The platform is backed by a proven industrial capability capable of manufacturing more than 3,000 UAVs annually, demonstrating the Group's ability to support large-scale programmes and sustained operational requirements. In the field of ballistic protection, OPTIMAL PROTECTION currently offers solutions up to STANAG Level 4, leveraging OPTIMAL GROUP's extensive expertise in advanced composites and high-volume manufacturing.

Direct engagement with representatives from NCIA and NSPA further reinforced our position as a reliable long-term industrial partner, ready to support NATO agencies and Allied armed forces with advanced technologies, manufacturing excellence and sustained programme delivery.

As part of AED Days 2026, OPTIMAL GROUP was pleased to showcase a selection of its advanced defence solutions and industrial capabilities alongside leading international industry players.

Over the years, OPTIMAL GROUP has established itself as a leading manufacturer of advanced composite structures for the defence, aerospace, naval and automotive sectors, with a strong focus on high-volume production programmes.

With five industrial facilities across Portugal and the United Kingdom, together with a spaceport in the Azores, OPTIMAL GROUP continues to strengthen its industrial footprint and operational capability to support strategic, large-scale and high-impact programmes for both national and international markets.

During AED Days 2026, OPTIMAL GROUP presented a range of innovative solutions and products, including UAVs, USVs and advanced composite ballistic protection systems. Within the defence sector, the Group currently offers ballistic protection solutions up to STANAG Level 4, supported by scalable high-volume manufacturing capacity.

The OPTIMAL GROUP, through its defence-focused company OPTIMAL PROTECTION, was honoured to participate with an exhibition stand at the INOVARMY Summit & Expo 2026, organised by the Portuguese Army with the support of idD Portugal Defence.

The event was attended by the Secretary of State for National Defence, Álvaro Castelo Branco, and the Vice Chief of Staff of the Army, General Boga Ribeiro.

During the event, OPTIMAL PROTECTION showcased advanced certified ballistic protection solutions, including protection levels up to STANAG Level 4 - the required standard for the MLU Pandur programme.

Congratulations to all involved for the excellent organisation of this important defence and innovation initiative.

As part of the Portuguese business mission to the United States, the OPTIMAL GROUP team participated in a high-level programme focused on strengthening industrial cooperation with the U.S. defence sector.

During the mission, Portuguese companies received key insights into the requirements and procedures necessary to supply the U.S. Department of War, as well as opportunities for integration into the supply chains of major American OEMs.

A highlight of the programme was the visit to Lockheed Martin facilities, where participants gained valuable exposure to one of the world’s leading aerospace and defence manufacturers.

This initiative further reinforces OPTIMAL GROUP’s commitment to expanding its international footprint and strengthening strategic partnerships within the global defence ecosystem.

OPTIMAL GROUP was proud to exhibit at SEA-AIR-SPACE in Washington, where we presented our advanced solutions through our specialised company, OPTIMAL PROTECTION.

During the event, we showcased our capabilities and innovative solutions across multiple domains, including Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) and Unmanned Surveillance Vehicles (USVs), among others. We also highlighted our ballistic protection solutions, offering protection levels up to STANAG Level 4.
