Feeling the need to encourage innovation, not only within the company but also among the young designers, BA decided to launch, in the year of the celebration of its centennial anniversary (2012), a package design contest. The concept of Glassberries Design Awards was inspired by the glass production cycle and the four key pillars that this entails: Solid Identity, Creativity, Innovation and Susta
inable Development. Glassberries are a clear commitment of BA to innovation and product development - development, time to market, industrial design and continuous improvement in customer service - always with a concern for eco-efficiency and social responsibility (supporting education, local communities and advocacy of an active policy on environmental impact). The ties between the industry and the universities go beyond just simple institutions - increasingly important at a time when the need to transfer and share knowledge is becoming deeper - this is also an opportunity to bring BA and our partners closer together. These partnerships are assumed as a strategic brand positioning, not only as a form of relationship with their target audiences, but as the establishment of a research group that may advance the brand image in the future. On the horizon, the goal is that Glassberries become a reference to students and young designers from all over Europe.
