We start to say goodbye to the warm days of summer and surrender to the shorter days and lower temperatures that are coming. It has been a productive summer with important missions accomplished around the house.

We have paved the main access to the house with rustic stones and it has definitely been a great upgrade that was beyond late! Check stories to see the before and after process or the highlights to see the transformation.

We also did an under roof on the balcony to get access to this part of the house all year round regardless of the weather, altogether with the new flooring and it feels great.

We have also had a great Airbnb season meeting amazing people from all over the world which we are so grateful they choose to stay with us.

The garden has kept us busy and happy as it evolves in its own pace but it hasn’t been the best year at all. Things got so delayed weather wise and it seemed like nothing was really in time as normal. I guess that nature dictates its own rhythm and we learn to adjust accordingly.

Living, learning, loving… let the winter come!

Nothing more promising than loads of citrus fruits hanging from the trees 🍊 beautiful and generous beings, the orange grove keeps blooming. Not fully ripe yet but looking like fresh juice for all winter and beyond.

Nopal cactuses and their edible fruit 🍃The prickly pear “Tuna” in Spanish, is the fruit of the nopal, a cactus plant, native to Mexico, and which was introduced to Europe by the Spanish conquerors. Careful while handling but so delicious and unique, comes also loaded with family memories and that always tastes special.

The glorious Sicilian lemons 🍋 so huge they are right now it’s unbelievable, some fruit are around 12cm tall 😅 part of the Citrus genus, these are a category of multiple lemon varieties belonging to the Rutaceae family. Sicily is the largest island in the Mediterranean and is a region in Italy known for its citrus production. Lemons have been grown on the island since the 10th century, and throughout history, many varieties of lemons have been cultivated, generally labeled under the Sicilian lemon name.
