A NEW LIFE, EVERY 9 YEARS💝
⁉️Did you know that if the cork oak is not stripped, it dies?
Cork planks are the result of the stripping process that allows cork to be used in a variety of applications, from the cork flooring industry, coverings, to crafts.
After 25 years, the cork oak is ready for the first stripping. Subsequent strippings take place in 9-year cycles, after the first one, and are done between the months of May and August. This is the period in which the tree is in its most active growth phase and is most easily stripped. Cork oaks are never cut during stripping and the bark regenerates with each extraction, increasing the quality of the next cork. The cork oak increases its CO2 absorption capacity during this regeneration process. If this process is not carried out, the tree dies. 💎💚♻️
