Last Wednesday, Clara Rodrigues, from WavEC’s Marine Environmental and Licensing Team, took part in a working session within the framework of the Gulbenkian Blue Carbon project.

Promoted by WWF Portugal with the support of the Directorate-General for Maritime Policy (DGPM), the initiative brought together a range of organisations at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation to discuss the Forum’s strategic positioning, share relevant projects focused on blue carbon ecosystems in Portugal, and review the proposed structure for the National Forum.

Through this participation, WavEC reaffirms its commitment to contributing technical and scientific expertise, supporting monitoring methodologies, data organisation, and practical recommendations that can accelerate action and strengthen decision-making on blue carbon.

🌊🐋 This week we marked 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗼𝗹𝗽𝗵𝗶𝗻 𝗗𝗮𝘆, a moment to reflect on the importance of protecting marine life as we advance the energy transition.
