We craft novel products to make your life easier, that are not only innovative and efficient but also natural and ecofriendly! One of those collections is PharmaBUG. This is the only commercial collection in the world that contains natural extracts of microorganisms isolated from samples collected at 3000 m deep in the most extreme oceanic conditions. BIOALVO is also developing other collections like LUSOEXTRACT and BIOLUSOMAR. These collection are expected to reach near 100.000 extracts, at the end of 2013, and include a variety of exquisite sources, ranging from deep sea vents in the Azores, or secret diving spots of Portugal’s Ministry of Defense, to some mainland ecosystems. Our collections are used for internal R&D projects, resorting to the in-house cell-based robotized facility and are also made available to partners through licensing deals that explore the potential of these collections to their chosen field of application. In addition, BIOALVO has developed several applications to the discovery of new bioactive ingredients from its technological platform, GPS D2 (Global Platform Screening for Drug Discovery) – an innovative and patented platform. BIOALVO has already developed several applications of this technological platform for the Pharmaceutical, Cosmetic, detergents and food industries among others. It also offers a simple, customizable, quick and fully integrated cell-based robotized unit designed for HTS screening and evaluating extract bioactivity for partners. All of this is coupled to production and manufacturing capacity as well as product testing and formulation in humans allowing clients who wish to take advantage of BIOALVO’s one-stop-shop organization to speed up their product development.
