Automated high-resolution system will have the capacity to detect plankton across a wide range of size scales (with detection starting at 20 μm size) and their utility is not restricted to quantify highly abundant plankton, but also macrozoo- and rarer larger ichthyoplankton, by their ability to sample large volumes of water.

Prototipe and its components

This system combine high-resolution imaging, acoustic, sonar, fraction filtration systems and sensors technologies in a modular, compact system that can be deployed on fixed and mobile platforms.

Includes also a centralized data base infra-structure that will aggregate all the diverse data sources (physical, chemical, biological).
