Yesterday, De Tovertuin celebrated with an official festive opening! Our rockstars were present during the festivities and were very excited to finally see guests experience the area in full magic. ✨

We’re incredibly proud to have contributed to this magical new destination commissioned by Van Hoorne Studios.

For this enchanting expansion, Petro Art Production was responsible for the primary structures and detailed rockwork surrounding the Tante Perenboom area, as well as the themed waterfall for Woezel & Pip. From engineering and fabrication to carving and finishing, our team worked passionately to help shape the playful environment designed for young adventurers and families alike.

A special mention as well to Themics Philippines Inc for bringing the beautiful Woezel & characters to life, adding even more charm and personality to the experience.

A huge thank you once again to the entire van Hoorne Studios team for the trust and collaboration throughout this project. We are proud to have worked together on bringing this special environment to life.

Petro Art Production is still glowing after an incredible TEA INSPIRE event in Orlando! ✨

Our Rockstar Natasha Wells had an amazing time representing Petro, reconnecting with friends, meeting new faces, and celebrating the passion that brings the themed entertainment community together.

From the mystery of Bermuda at Futuroscope to the tropical setting of Kraki Beach at Tropical Islands (commissioned by Jora Vision ), and the dynamic Wild River at Marveld Recreatie, each project combines storytelling with craftsmanship to create immersive spaces.

Our Rockstars have been Rocking Hard in the Netherlands at De Tovertuin, bringing the magical world of Woezel & Pip to life. 🌳 🌈

After extensive preparation in our engineering department and warehouse, the team moved on site to construct the primary structures, followed by the rockwork theming for this brand-new area. Our team focused in particular on the rockwork theming for the Tante Perenboom area and Woezel & Pip Waterfall, creating immersive elements that form a key part of the atmosphere within De Tovertuin and allow visitors to experience the world of Woezel & Pip from every angle.

A huge thank you to the entire Van Hoorne Studios team for the trust and collaboration throughout this project. We couldn't be more proud about this amazing realization of the world of Woezel & Pip.

We are excited for the opening of Avonturenpark de Tovertuin, and cannot wait to see how guests will experience everything this magical world has to offer.

Every year at the IAAPA Expo Europe, we build a themed concrete booth, designed to showcase our craft.

Like last year, our booth has found its way to
Drouwenerzand Attractiepark, where the elements have been repaired and prepared by our team for their new setting.

A good example of how reusing themed elements can extend their lifespan in a practical and sustainable way. Now fully integrated, it feels right at home in the park.

What do all these rockwork environments have in common? They all have rollercoasters racing straight through them. 🎢

This week, we’re highlighting several coaster projects where Petro Art Production brought the rockwork surrounding these rides to life.

From De Bulderbaan at Bommelwereld, to the T-Rex Familycoaster in Dinosaurland at Djurs Sommerland, the Wild West Coaster circling Winno Mountain at Winnoland, and Mahuka at Parc Walibi Rhône-Alpes (Officiel), our Rockstars created custom-sculpten rockwork integrated with each coaster layout.

Each project combined custom shotcrete rockwork and themed landscape elements designed to support both the ride experience and the park’s vision.

A special thank you again to Bommelwereld, Djurs Sommerland, Winnoland and Walibi Rhône-Alpes for the trust and collaboration.

Meet the Rockstar - Anja 🪨💪

At Petro Art Production, our work is only possible thanks to the incredible people behind each project.

Through our series: Meet the Rockstars, we shine a light on the team members who help bring our worlds to life.

Today, we introduce Anja, a valued member of our engineering team, and an important force behind many of our projects.

Officially, Anja is an engineer. Unofficially, she’s what we like to call a team octopus. One brain, many arms, juggling projects, tasks, meetings, and timelines, and keeping everything connected.

When asked about a favorite project, her answer reflects her approach to the work:

“I don’t have one. Every project has its own character, and that’s exactly what makes each one special.”

What she enjoys most is turning ideas into reality. Connecting different pieces, learning on the go, facing new challenges, and growing together with the team are what keep the work dynamic and rewarding.

Outside of work, Anja prefers being outdoors. Since moving to Portugal, her favorite hobbies have expanded to include surfing and motorcycle riding.

Looking back at one of the exciting projects we had the pleasure of working on: the development of Exotic Island at Parc Walibi Rhône-Alpes (Officiel), including the spectacular Mahuka coaster.

Our team at Petro Art Production had the pleasure of contributing to this area through various rock- and façade works, helping shape the atmosphere and storytelling of the zone. Mahuka, a one-of-a-kind Intamin Hot Racer, stands out with its striking temple theming, challenging riders to escape the Fire God’s wrath as they race through the layout.

Alongside the coaster, we also worked on rockwork at several other locations within Exotic Island, supporting the overall look and feel of the area as a cohesive themed environment.

The theming of the areas was realised in close collaboration with Themics Philippines Inc, who manufactured many of the thematic elements. A big thank you once again to Walibi Rhône-Alpes, Compagnie des Alpes, Fabien Manuel , Edd Musgrove, Luc de Roo and Grégory PIGEAT for the trust and collaboration.

It’s always special to look back at projects like this, now open and enjoyed by visitors and see how all the pieces came together.
