🪨 Upgrade Your Surface Preparation with Basalt

Performance doesn’t start with the coating — it starts with the surface.

In mechanical stripping (sandblasting), the right abrasive makes all the difference. Basalt flakes and basalt fiber powder offer a powerful, more sustainable alternative to traditional media.

✔ Faster and effective removal of paint and corrosion
✔ Consistent surface profile for better adhesion
✔ Reduced free-silica exposure
✔ Reusable in controlled systems
✔ Sustainable, natural volcanic origin

Stronger adhesion. Longer coating life. Lower environmental impact.

If you’re looking for a smarter abrasive solution for industrial applications, basalt delivers performance with responsibility.

Sustainability begins at the surface.

🪨 Basalt as a Sustainable Abrasive in Mechanical Stripping

Surface preparation remains one of the most critical factors in the long-term performance of any coating system. Without proper cleaning and profiling, there is no adhesion — and without adhesion, there is no durability.

In mechanical stripping (sandblasting), abrasive particles are projected by compressed air to remove:

✔️ Old paint
✔️ Rust and corrosion
✔️ Industrial contaminants
✔️ Scale and degraded coatings

An emerging alternative in abrasive media is the use of basalt flakes and basalt fiber powder.

Why basalt?

🔹 Naturally occurring volcanic rock
🔹 High hardness and thermal resistance
🔹 Low free-silica content
🔹 Potential reusability in controlled systems
🔹 More sustainable alternative to traditional abrasives

Beyond effective coating removal, basalt abrasives can create an optimal surface profile for anti-corrosion systems and advanced industrial coatings — enhancing long-term structural protection.

As industries move toward safer and more environmentally responsible solutions, basalt presents a technically robust and forward-thinking option.

Innovation in sustainability doesn’t start with the final coating — it starts with surface preparation.
